EL CAJON (12-18-14) — The El Cajon Valley lady Braves defended their home court against Christian Patriots 35-31 in Wednesday’s (Dec. 17) non-league game.
El Cajon Valley was led by freshman LEANNA WATSON who scored eight points for a very balanced Brave team (six players scored, three had six points).
"Turnovers killed us tonight," Christian head coach TIFFANY GILES said after the contest. Indeed, the Patriots did commit plenty of them, 22 to be exact. MADDIE BAGDASARIAN had a game-high 14 points and was the only player that scored double figures in the game.
"It was the best basketball that we have played so far this season in the first half," Giles said. "I’m still proud of them. We knew tonight was going to be a tough night, since we scrimmaged against them."
