This is a spectacular year for our basketball programs. We are dominating all over the city. 7th - 8th ended their regular season undefeated. They enter the playoffs as the #1 seed. These boys are handling their business in strong fashion. Let cheer them on during the playoffs.

Inner City caused a disruption in the gym by total domination in its opening two games. These boys run a serious court with teamwork and respect. Great job fellas'!

Hard work paid off in our season opener versus Mozart Park. This team has been known to have our number in seasons past. They are always a formidable opponent. Players from last year explained "Don't let the small size fool you. These guys can play. Our nerves and tenatious defense proved to be a bit much for these guys. The overpowering size and dominate teamwork settled this one in favor of team Lafollette. Great job kids, keep up the good work.

The winter weather held back our girls ICH team from their debut. We were patiently waiting for our turn to show our stuff. We were able to salvage the day with extra practice. Next week we will play Kelvyn Park to Re-Open the season!

We had a heck of a day in the "Area 2" basketball tournament. We played against some teams with great history. Game one featured one of the oldest parks in the park district. Garfield Park was big, strong and fast. They had us on our heels early and often. Lafollette's 7th-8th grade team held their own all the way until the end. We pulled off a 12 point win to make it to the next round. Then came Altgeld. A small but well oiled machine that fought for every basket and hustled hard. We eventually got out with a 8 point victory. Then the team that won it all last year. Franklin Park will constantly pull out a victory and is a very formidable opponent. We played and changed leads more than any other team we faced this year. They held us tight until the final moments when we went ahead by 3. The final minute was intentional foul time where they fouled us until the final buzzer and we ran away with a one point win. Regional Playoffs will be in two weeks so lets be ready.
