Jonestown wins its 17th League Championship in the league's history. They last won the championship in 2014.
Our league mourns the death of Fredericksburg's manager, Mike Olesh. We extend our sympathy to Mike's wife and family. Mike was the manager of the Youth Legion team in Fredericksburg from 2021 to 2023. Mike will be missed by the league and all of its coaches and players.

Coaches:
Our League mourns the death of our President Ed Spittle on Saturday, 17 April 2021. We will miss his leadership. He was a former coach, winning two of our league's 4 state championships with Jonestown, an arbitration board member, and most recently our league President
We welcome our new league President: Steve Hollich.
Steve is a West Point graduate and a baseball, softball and basketball official.
Clarification: Local League Game Rules: If you are using a Designated Hitter, per Major League rule, it can only be for the Pitcher. You may not then use an Extra Hitter. If you are using an Extra Hitter per our by-law rules then you may not be also using a Designated Hitter. Only 9 or 10 players may be in the line-up to start the game.
Additional Clarification - Pitch Count Rules - Our local by-laws were written one year before Youth Legion adopted a pitch count rule. You are to follow the rule on pages 15 and 16 of the Legion book. If a pitcher goes beyond any level during the last batter he faces, the actual pitches made is what is recorded to determine how many days of rest will be required.

The Lebanon County Youth Legion Baseball League will open its 67th season on Monday, May 15th. The league is for players 13 to 16 years old.
The league members will play a twelve game league schedule, followed by a best of three,semi-final and final tournament for the top four teams.
The league has five team members. Each team will play three games versus the four other teams in the league.
Conrad Weiser, Myerstown, Fredericksburg, Jonestown, and North Cornwall
The best of three playoffs, the first night will match:
1st place versus 4th place
2nd place versus 3rd place
Overall Championship game if Playoff Winner differs from Regular Season Champion
The champion of the league will advance to the Eastern Regionals at Berwick, and if they win that competition or finish second , they would advance to the State Finals, an eight team affair, which commences on July 30th in Berwick. Two Eastern Regional champions and runnerups, the top three teams from the Western Regional and the host team, Berwick will compete for the state championship.
Youth Legion Baseball is the largest baseball organization for this age group in Pennsylvania, encompassing 97 teams in 35 counties and 13 leagues. Their philosophy is town teams with very distinct geographic boundaries. Post season play has league champions, not all-stars, competing in regional, 8 team double elimination competitions at three sites throughout the state. 2 Eastern regional winners and 2nd place finishers, 3 top Western regional finishers and a host team compete for the state championship, the last week of July. Penn Trafford are the state champions from 2021 and Murreysville the 2022 state champions. Covid -19 canceled the 2020 season.
The Lebanon County league started play in 1949 and has run uninterrupted since 1963, except in 2020 when the Covid 19 Pandemic shut down operations in April. It is for boys and girls, ages 13 through 16. A player turning 16 on January 1st or later is eligible for that season and then, the next year that player graduates to the Senior Legion program. The minimum age to participate in the league is 12. Eligible birth years for the 2024 season are: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.
Jonestown is the 2023 league champion. League Championships won by current league members are as follows:

Newmanstown (4), Tulpehocken/Bethel (4), Lebanon (3), Cornwall (2), Palmyra (2), Schaefferstown (1), Annville (0), North Cornwall Blue (0), North Cornwall Grey (0), Pine Grove (0), Richland (0), West Lebanon (0), Womelsdorf (0).
The Lebanon Valley Umpires Association, under coordinator Jim Beidler, supply the league with umpires. There are 30 umpires registered with the Legion Baseball program , having passed a rules test and registered on an annual basis. Nearly 100% are also PIAA qualified and highly experienced.
League President is Steve Hollich, Vice-President is Skip Wolf, and the Treasurer is Chuck Fager.

The Lebanon County Youth Legion Baseball League is looking for teener age teams to compete in the league next season, 2024, and take it to the next level. Develop your team from a clearly defined geographic area in Lebanon County, no raiding of players from another team's territory. Compete with other teams from around the state, not with all-stars, but with your team, which you developed and coached during the regular season. Youth Legion is the largest provider of baseball for 13 to 16 year olds in the state of Pennsylvania with 17 leagues and 118 teams in 35 counties under its jurisdiction.
