LI BOYS OF SUMMER BASEBALL LEAGUE 2019
Boys of Summer 2019 Summer Season Registration Now Open! First Meeting 7pm Monday February 4th
The Long Island Boys of Summer registration meeting for the summer of 2019 is scheduled for 7pm Monday, February 4 in the Lecture Hall D105 at Suffolk CCC Brentwood. We have some exciting news to share with you for 2019 and we will have giveaways for some lucky managers and coaches in attendance. We've added new divisions, events, and even more fields. This meeting is critical to implement new ideas to improve the BOS and we need your feedback. We have experienced tremendous growth in the last five years and want to make sure we're meeting your needs.
There has been an overwhelming response to register for this summer league for all ages 13 through 22. Summer registration is $2200 for a 25-game regular season plus playoffs and a $500 deposit will hold your spot in our National (most competitive) or American Divisions. The floor will be open for discussion on everything from national and local tournaments, umpires, fields, all-star games and dates, playoff schedules, Citifield games, and Ducks Stadium games. In addition to bringing your deposit, please fill out the 2019 Online Team Registration Form beforehand as well.
The Boys of Summer is proud to announce that we will run our 5th Annual Memorial Day Tournament in the Nassau County Parks and Brentwood State Complex. Registration forms can be found at the following link and on the front page of the website as well: Memorial Day Tournament
Order forms for baseballs can be found here. The league is in the second year of its contract to use the NCAA Spalding baseballs this summer. We have added more fields in Nassau County and we are excited to continue in our relationships with the other venue owners around Long Island. We will run our 2nd annual free college showcase at New York Tech in August for the Scout Divisions.
For the College Division in 2019, we will run the BCP College Division and the BOS College Division this summer. The BCP College Division will have 10 highly competitive teams and the BOS College Division will consist of 16 teams. Full teams can register normally using the team registration link at the top. Single players can also register for the college division, which includes incoming freshman players. Please email us at email@example.com with your name, contact information and get on our free agent list for college players. The fee for single college players will be $975 for the season which includes everything from uniforms, umpire fees to baseballs and league registration.
If you have an announcement for tryouts or a clinic you're running please send it to us to be posted on the website.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

BASES, HELMETS, AND PROPER ATTIRE
ATTENTION ALL MANAGERS AND COACHES
All teams must have a set of bases for each game. Some fields accommodate us with bases but others do not so please remember to bring them to all fields. Town of Brookhaven fields are an example of fields that do not supply bases but there are others as well and teams must have a set of bases with them.
We would like to reiterate what has been said at every league meeting in 2016. Coaches must wear coaching helmets for safety reasons. You will not be permitted to coach on the bases if you do not wear a coaching helmet. Umpires have done a good job enforcing this rule all season but have had some push-back from some of you and some resistance which has caused poor relations at some fields. This should not be an issue -- you cannot coach without a helmet. Thank you for your cooperation.
Another hot topic at the midway point of our season is the coaches attire. We agreed at the March meeting that all coaches must be properly dressed for games. A coaches shirt, team jersey or pullover is acceptable. Coaches shorts or baseball pants are also acceptable. NO denim or cutoff shorts, slacks, work pants, capris, skirts, work boots or dress shoes can be worn while coaching the bases. This also should never be an issue to be dealt with at the field.
NASSAU COUNTY PARKS -- IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
If you are playing games at any of the Nassau County Parks, Wantagh, Eisenhower, Cantiague and Bay, there is a $10 parking fee imposed by Nassau County for all non-residents. This has nothing to do with Boys of Summer. This is has been in effect for the past two years at all of these venues during tournaments and league play so please be advised that there is a fee for all non-residents. Thank you for your cooperation.
