Welcome to the home of the
Lisle Lions Travel Basketball
Travel Basketball Program:
This competitive program is designed for players who wish to acquire the skills necessary to play High School Basketball. It will feature experienced coaches and increased player commitment – including team practice 1 or 2 times a week, with home and away games and tournaments. Games include travel to some out of town locations. The focus of the program is to prepare young athletes for high school competition though increased training and a longer season (Late October - Early March).
Open Tryouts will be held on September 8 and 15 at Lisle Senior High. Specific times for each league will be available on September 2nd. In some cases, teams may not hold tryouts if they are carrying the same team from the previous season.
Players will be selected by the coaches on the basis of talent, sportsmanship, and attitude. Because the league is competitive rather than recreational, placement on a team does not ensure participation in every game. Coaches will attempt to see that all players receive court time; however, there may be games that some participants will not play. Based on interest, there should be one team in each league.
Player selection is at the discretion of the individual coaches. In the event roster slots are not available on returning teams, tryouts for that team may not be held.

Travel Team Programs:
For park district recreation programs, residents have the opportunity to register before non-resident registrants. However, Travel Basketball is an exception where the policy differs. Travel basketball, while still a park district program, is a competitive program with a different set of guidelines regarding priority registration and player selection. Residents and non-residents are permitted to register at the same time for Travel Basketball. Under the review of park district staff, player selection will be determined by coaches evaluating factors such as basketball ability, sportsmanship, and time commitment. Residents and non-residents will receive equal consideration in the player selection process.
