   It is time for the 2025 Junior Legion season! I encourage everyone to register for the tryout ahead of time using the form titled 2025 Ligonier Junior Legion Registration Form. However, walk-ins will still be welcome. You can find this form on the right side of the home page. There is NO FEE to tryout. This year try-outs will be held outside on the High School Baseball Field. The preliminary dates for the try-outs are Tuesday April 8th and Wednesday April 9th. If either of the primary try-out dates are cancelled (due to inclement weather or field availability), then Thursday April 10th and/or Friday April 11th will be utilized as "make-up" dates. The Pennsylvania Junior Legion has adpated to the American Legion National rule book. Be sure to check out the newly implemented age requirement to be sure that the player is eligible prior to signing up. lastly, by adapting to the national rules, we are proudly the only wooden bat league in the area!

  Moreover, be sure you are dressed appropriately to be outside. Remember to bring tennis shoes with you. Shorts are acceptable, but baseball pants or a pant made of an athletic material are preferred. The only thing you are required to bring is a glove. With that being said, you are more than welcome to bring a bat, helmet, and any other equipment that you may need however, these can be provided by the team.

In past years, the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball Association had been independent with their rules and age requirements. For the 2025 season and with the addition of the American Legion World Series, the Pennsylvania Chapter has adopted the National Age Requirement. This means that the age range has "shifted" to any player turning age 13 before 1/1/2025 to any player whose 18th birthday falls after 12/31/2025.
