CONGRATULATIONS ERB MENNONITE RED

Erb Mennonite Red survived a classic five-game series with Middle Creek, winning the fifth and deciding game 15-14 to win the series three games to two and capture the American League playoff championship. Erb Red (24-6) trailed in the series 1-0 and 2-1 before winning the final two games to take the series. The title is Erb Red's ninth in the last 13 years. For Middle Creek, the berth in the finals was its first since 2001 when it captured a fourth league title in a row.

CONGRATULATIONS ERB MENNONITE GOLD

Erb Mennonite Gold captured the National League playoff championship by winning the final three games of its series against White Oak Gray to take the best-of-five series three games to one. Top-seeded Erb Gold went 7-2 in the playoffs, finishing the year with a combined record of 25-6 en route to winning its first title after advancing to the NL finals last year in its first season. For White Oak Gray (23-9), this marked its second trip to the playoff finals in three years.

All-Star Saturday another success!

The Manheim Church League's second All-Star Saturday on June 29 featured top players from the league competiting in two nine-inning all-star games. A Home Run Derby was sandwiched between the two games, with Newport Dove Blue's Ethan Sensenig winning the event. Dan Wiederrecht of Salem took second after a hit-off with Erb Mennonite Gold's Landon Stoner decided the runner-up.

Once again, food trucks were on hand during the games and derby, with $8,400 collected, which is being split between Manheim missions Teen Central and The Home on Ferdinand. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this day successful and to those who turned out to help celebrate our league!
