HitMen capture the 21' league crown
Oh how sweet it is! The HitMen win the final regular season tournament of the year and capitalize on their #2 seeding in the playoffs to capture the Champions Tournament win and 2021 Miffly League Championship. The HitMen, consisting of captain Spencer Griswold, Tyler Jackson, CJ Jackson, Ty Narron, and Harrison Grady were on fire the latter half of the year. The league saw awesome diving plays, quickness on the base paths and in the field, and timely hits to win games. On Sunday during the Champions Tournament, it took a last minute hit by Grady to propel the HitMen to victory over Spivey Magic 1-0 in the quarterfinals. Then, a route in the semifinals vs Uncensored got them to the championship game where the #1 seed and defending champion Super Smash Bro's were waiting. The HitMen wasted no time, making quick work of timely errors by the Bro's and capitalizing by blasting the ball. Tyler Jackson, later crowned MVP of the tournament, was phenomenal pitching and at the plate. His 2 doubles and 7 RBI's in the game were fuel to the HitMen's 18-5 shalacking of the defending champions.
HitMen win the 21' NC State Wiffle Ball Tournament
The HitMen go BACK TO BACK! Back in Kenly for the first time in over 2 decades, the NC State Wiffle Ball Tournament saw a Miffly League team win their second straight title. The HitMen, consisting of captain Spencer Griswold, Tyler Jackson, CJ Jackson, and Ty Narron go perfect on the weekend and capture just their second state tournament, but also their second straight win. Ty Narron went back to back as well winning the tournament's MVP title. All four members of the team were on the all-tournament team.
Other notable teams that finished in the final four were Uncensored and Catch a Wiff. The only other two teams that played in the tournament that were from the Miffly League were Super Smash Bro's and Spivey Magic. Neither team made it to Sunday's final four action.
Spivey Magic wins their first-ever championship
The Spivey Magic (former #5 in the league) goes 4-1 on the weekend en route to their first-ever championship victory. On Saturday, the team was put in the toughest bracket with #2 Uncensored and #1 Super Smash Bro's in which they went 1-1 defeating #2 Uncensored and losing to #1 Super Smash Bro's. Securing the #5 seed for Sunday, the Magic then had to upset a 4-seed No Shot team and 1-seed Super Smash Bro's team (in extra innings) to make it to the championship game. In the last game of the day, the Magic took down 6-seed Catch a Wiff, securing revenge (0-3 on the year against the aformentioned team) and a huge standings-moving victory. The MVP on the weekend was captain Austin Raynor. You can check out his statistics and the rest of the team's under the standings tab on our website.
Super Smash Bro's win the Memorial Day Weekend Championship
The Super Smash Bro's just keep smashing the ball and racking up runs. On Memorial Day Weekend, the Bro's secured their third straight Miffly League tournament win. You can check the box scores on our statistics game results tab, and you can see pictures from the event on our Instagram and Facebook.

Center Field Fence Remodel
OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW! The old center field fence layout with the batting cage coming to a point at 143 ft. in center field is now gone. Greg and Austin have tirelessly worked on removing the batting cage, measuring a new layout, and restructuring/wrapping the fence around to make a circular, enclosed center field. The fence in center field will now reach 120 ft. in center field with a 123 ft. left-center gap. On top of wrapping the fence in center field, the ground beyond center field is now lined with trees. We are hoping in 3-4 years, these trees will make a lush batter's eye. See the new center field layout in the pictures below.

Nationwide Opening Dates Announced
Thanks to leagues nationwide, Miffly Wiffle was able to compile a comprehensive list of opening dates for 35 wiffle ball leagues nationwide. The HitMen Conquer Uncensored and the Elements to Win the 32nd Annual Tourney
Via NC State Wiffle Ball Tournament's Website
The first Sunday rain in the tournament's 39 years and a powerful defending champion Uncensored team was not enough to deter The HitMen, who went thorough the weekend unbeaten to capture the North Carolina Championship for 2020. MVP Ty Narron and All Tourney teammates Spencer Griswold, CJ Jackson and Tyler Jackson won an extra innings title game 3-2 in a drizzle and a soaked field to finish the weekend 4-0. The champs were challenged in every game though, winning 17-12 over Brokebat Mountain in an extra inning instant classic, then nipping the Super Smash Brothers 3-2. In Sunday's unbeaten game, they won a defensive battle over Uncensored before winning the rematch for the title. Last year's runners up, the Super Smash Brothers finished third, while Brokebat Mountain was fourth. This means the HitMen beat all 3 other teams in the final four en route to the championship. Joining Narron and his teammates on the All Tournament team were Craig Hardin, Jordan Adams and Caleb Byrd of Uncensored, Adam Williams and Reid Barefoot of the Super Smash Brothers, and Austin Raynor of Brokebat Mountain. The tournament was hosted in Spivey's Corner this year at beautiful Miffly Field. It marked the first time the event has ever been held outside of Johnston County. This year's tournament was the 32nd Annual State Tournament, but marks the 39th consecutive year of tourney play, as the event started as the Kenly Wiffle Ball Tournament in 1982. It is the second oldest Wiffle Ball Tourney in the world, bested only by the World Wiffle Ball Championships in Mishawaka, Indiana, which began in 1980.

The Miffly Wiffle Ball League and 919 Wiffle Ball League (Wake Forest, NC) has announced via Instagram that there will be a pending showdown at Miffly Field before the 2021 season. Such reports comes after an online feud via Miffly Wiffle's latest post regarding teams signing up. Spivey Magic player Corey Grantham calls out Luke Evans from 919 Wiffle in what spirals into an abyss of boyish playground insults eventually resulting in a showdown between leagues.
