Field 1 - Citywide Designs and the Lawrence British Club split their doubleheader
Game 1 - Someone was heard saying that you can't win with 5 runs, but somehow the 1st place Citywide Designs team did exactly that in the 1st game on Sunday morning, winning 5-2. Citywide only had 12 hits in the game, and no player had more than 2 hits. Pitching and defense were the name of the game, and both pitchers twirled a gem, Mike Simard for Citywide and Bob Waters for the LBC. Chris (don't call me Sowser) Souza, Pat Collins, and Chooch LaRue all had 2 hits for Citywide, while Chris Sadler, Roger Blundell, Dave Ciampa, and Chris Rosado had 2 each for LBC. The King of Ching Perry Delisle drove in the 2 runs for LBC.
Game 2 - it was the complete opposite in game 2, with well over 50 hits between both teams in a wild 8 inning affair, won by LBC by a score of 19-18. Coach Sadler's take on the game: Game 2 was a classic. Great pitching, great defense, and clutch hitting by both teams throughout. LBC offense was led by Perry Delisle and Bobby Waters, each with 4 hits. Chris Sadler, Chris Rosado (4 RBI), Brandon Piecuch, and BJ Mannion (3 RBI) with 3 hits apiece. Citywide took a 12-8 lead into the bottom of 7th. LBC scrapped for 4 to tie the game and send it into extras. In the top of 8th, Citywide scored 6 to take an 18-12 lead. LBC came back with 7 runs in the bottom of the 8th and won it on a clutch 2 run single by BJ Mannion. Citywide banged out 27 hits, but it wasn't enough to prevent the walkoff. Mike Bergeron (3 hits) banged his 9th and 10th HRs of the season. Citywide's 1 and 2 hitters, Jack Gilhooly and Gary Desrochers each had 4 hits and 3 RBIs, while Eric Pineda and Mike Perrone both had 3 hits. Pat Collins and Brian McCormack each had a triple in the game, and Chris Souza drove in 3 runs. Citywide's record is now 13-3, while LBC is now 9-7.

Field 1 - Lawrence British Club and Cornerstone Services split their doubleheader
Cornerstone and LBC played two competitive, well-played games today, with the action back and forth throughout the day. In Game 1, LBC was led by Chris Sadler (3 RBI) and Mark Sloan (3 RBI with 2 triples), each with 4 hits. Dave Ciampa and sub Ken Holton added 3 hits apiece. Bobby Waters added 2 triples on the day. For Cornerstone, Greg Elwell led the hitting attack, going 4-4, with 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Charlie Kacamburas also went 4-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Denis Higgins chipped in with 2 hits and an RBI. Cornerstone had 27 hits in Game 1, but could only push 12 runs across the plate. It's tough to win a game with that many left on base. LBC took Game 1, 18-12. In Game 2, Austin Spinella had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Greg Elwell continued his hot hitting with 2 more hits. Jeff Kelly, Dan Downs, Eric Pellerin, and Mike Morgan also had 2 hits each. Cornerstone played stellar defense in Game 2, which propelled them to the 8-4 win. The LBC offense was led by Chris Sadler, Steve Pilcher, and Mark Sloan with 3 hits apiece. Bobby Waters pitched well all day. Cornerstone Services now has a 10-4 record. The Lawrence British Club is 8-6. Next week, Cornerstone plays Marks Properties (2-12) on the Pug, and the British Club plays Citywide Designs (12-2) on Field 1.
Field 2 - Marks Properties vs. McKinnon's Supermarkets
Pug - The Loft vs. Citywide Designs
The Loft took game 1 by a score of 15-8. Curt Cassista and Jerry Lazaris each had 4 hits to lead the way for The Loft, while Jack Joaquin and Dave Pierce banged out 3 hits. Scott Pelletier, Chris Souza, Jack Gilhooly, and Bob Wogan had 3 hits apiece for Citywide.
Citywide Designs took game 2 13-10, led by 4 hits from Brian McCormack and Mike Simard, and 3 each from Scott Pelletier, Jack Gilhooly, and Gary Desrochers.
