Welcome to Northeast Premier Basketball! NE Premier's mission is to provide top level basketball competition and experiences to middle and high school aged boys in northeastern Colorado through participation in tournaments put on by Mid America Youth Basketball (MAYB) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Under the direction of two-time New York State Champion coach Mike Long, Jr., NE Premier is poised to become one of the top basketball clubs throughout the state of Colorado

Mike Long, Jr. has been successfully coaching basketball at every level of boys and girls basketball for the past decade. His success can be attributed to his strong belief in instilling a championship vision through the concepts of teamwork and creation a family-like culture, as can be evidenced by his career won-loss record of 115-57. Most recently, Long served as head coach of the class of 2020 gold team for Capital District Premier located in upstate New York. Over the past two years his teams have posted a 77-33 mark, qualifying for and representing the Adirondack District in the AAU Nationals in Hampton, VA both seasons. His 2017 squad finished the year at 43-14 and advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the 15U tournament.

In addition to his experience with CD Premier, Long has also been the varsity assistant at The Albany Academy, an all-boys independent school, from 2015-2017. During his time there, he helped guide the Cadets to a 35-9 mark and back-to-back NYS Class A Federation State Championships. Long also served as the head coach of the freshman squad.

Long spent the 2014-2015 season coaching boys and girls middle school basketball for the Wray RD-2 School District in Wray, CO. While in Wray, he served as founder and director of the Wray Eagles Basketball Camp. Long has also worked camps for coach Brian Beaury at The College of Saint Rose (Albany, NY), former Duke University standout Greg Koubek, and former NBA player Jimmer Fredette, as well as a number of others. He has made stops coaching every level of either boys or girls basketball, including spending a season as an assistant for men's basketball at Schenectady County Community College. 

Coach Long is employed as a School Counselor at Wiggins High School, where he also coaches and runs the drama program. He resides in Fort Morgan. His father, Mike Long Sr., is a three-time Hall of Fame inducted college men's coach who has the court at The College of Saint Rose named after him and is currently the head men's coach at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.
