To be recognized as one of the premier boys' basketball programs in the state of Washington both academically and competitively.  To build a program that competes at a high level every year.  To help develop life lessons through the game of basketball.

 


Newport Hoops Welcomes Coach Mark Prince


Newport Boys Basketball is extremely excited to introduce Mark Prince as the new Varsity Head Coach for the 2019-20 season.

 

Coach Prince has been coaching at the high school level for the past 8 years.  This past season he was the JV Boys Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Skyline.  Prior to Skyline, Coach Prince was the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Cedarcrest High School in Duvall.  Coach Prince attended Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, Washington where he played both Varsity basketball and baseball.  After High School, Coach Prince attended Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake where he had the opportunity to continue playing basketball and baseball.  He finished his sports career playing baseball at Central Washington University while earning his Bachelors Degree in Education.  Coach Prince and his family lived in Sammamish for 15 years where his son and daughter graduated from Eastlake High School.  He and his wife currently reside in Carnation.  

 
Note from Coach Prince:
First, I would like to say Thank You to Jesse and the rest of the hiring committee for providing me this opportunity and having the confidence in me to lead the Newport Boys Basketball Program.  I am excited to be part of the long history and tradition of Newport High School from an academics and competitive sports standpoint.  I'm looking forward to the challenge of our teams competing at a high level within the Kingco Conference.
