2014 12U Extreme 1st Annual Mariano Rivera Tournament Champs with Mariano himself!

Extreme President and Founder Mike Puglise with former Mets Star and Hitting Coach Howard Johnson

The Extreme -"The Legacy Continues to Grow."

Eight years ago the North Jersey Extreme started out as a single 12U Traveling Baseball team centered around playing at the Cooperstown Dreams Park annual baseball tournament. The Extreme was founded in the summer of 2009 and was managed by Mike Puglise formerly of the B & B Troopers. Mike spent the eight years prior to 2009 as a coach, General Manager and driving force of the Troopers. He has also served as the vice president of Tri Boro Little League from 2000 to 2014 and had been the manager of their 12U All Star team for six years.
Also since it started, the organization has achieved great success, having participated in multiple league and tournament championships, winning sixteen so far!

Coach Puglise is extremely happy with the organizations progress and expansion in such a short period of time. “When I started this (the Extreme) a few years back I definitely envisioned the possibility of this kind of success for the organization”. “It is one of the reasons you do it”. “I couldn’t be happier that it has grown so quickly”. Puglise went on to say that it couldn’t baseball players for as long as the demand is there!
With the additional teams coming on board, it provides a different dynamic to one aspect of the Cooperstown experience. Puglise said “With the addition of the 10U team last year the premise was to make the transition towards going to Cooperstown easier and more efficient, because the teams get to play together for two years prior to going to Cooperstown and become a more cohesive unit”. Adding more younger levels enhances that premise. Puglise still envisions having to hold open try outs each year at all levels because for whatever reason, you tend to need to draft new players from time to time. Due to the economy or relocation of players.
Non of this could have happened without the help and support of his family and a lot of good people and coaches to rely on. The formula is and has been simple from the beginning, try to put the most competitive product on the field and provide the kids a place to continue to grow and improve as baseball players.

What Puglise and vice president Bill Wright are most proud of is the organizations success with exposing it's college bound players to showcase tournaments and recruiting agents. The organization has been instrumental in getting several of it's players placed in college baseball programs. The Extreme is the official feeder program for Butler High School and takes great pride in developing all of it's players for all their perspective high school teams.

The Extreme would like to once again thank all of its many supporters and sponsors, without whom such growth would be impossible.
