OHS Youth Basketball League is being established by Coach Charles Roth to develop community youth, both Boys and Girls, with basketball knowledge and skills under the supervision and guidance of OHS Players and Coaches. Our focus is to enhance the enjoyment, participation and development in the game of basketball. Through quality instruction, dedicated coaches, intelligent training and focus on the health and well-being of our communities youth, we believe this program will be beneficial for anyone who participates.

Players are enriched with emphasizing the importance of family values, academic achievement, good sportsmanship and fair play. We offer these athletes opportunity to shape their character, build their fundamental skills, enhance techniques, as well as provide them with positive coaching. OHS Youth Basketball League is proud to offer an environment that shapes their character and provide positive coaching that focuses on techniques and prepares these young players for junior high and high school play.

It is important to understand and accept that while some will advance to play basketball at higher levels, and some will simply continue to participate in the game, everyone will eventually enter the “Basketball for Life” stage. This stage includes continuing to play the game, but also includes those who continue to take part as coaches, trainers, administrators, fans, officials and referees. OHS Youth Basketball League’s Development Pathway is a road map to enjoying the sport forever. Great experiences along the path will ensure growth of the individual, growth of the game, and the future of the sport.

Open to Boys and Girls who are in Grades 4^th/5^th and 6^th/7^th   (these will be Co-ed teams)

First 48 players, per grade division, to sign up and pay fee will be on a team  

Signup: March 12th – May 4th

Player Evaluations: Friday May 11th

4th / 5th  Grade:  6:00 - 7:30PM

6th / 7th  Grade:  7:30 - 9:00PM 

**ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE ON FIRST DAY OF EVALUATIONS**

Fee: $80.00

($5.00 Discount for each additional sibling)

Late Signup Fee:  + $10.00

An additional $25.00 fee for all participants not residing in the Newman-Crows Landing School District.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN

NO REQUESTS FOR COACHES OR TEAMS  

All games will be held on Friday Evenings beginning approximately June 1st.

Game Time:

4^th/5^th Grade game times will be at 5:00PM / 6:00PM

6^th/7^th Grade game times will be at 7:00PM / 8:00PM 

Location: Orestimba High School Gym

Practice Time:

4^th/5^th Grade practice days and times will be Monday & Wednesday at 5:00PM / 6:00PM

6^th/7^th Grade practice days and times will be Tuesday & Thursday at 5:00PM / 6:00PM

Location: Orestimba High School Gym

Players / Teams will have 1 - 2 weeks of practice prior to their first game.

League will consist of 6 games plus a Playoffs Game.

All in all, 16-18 practices and 7 games over a 9 week period.

ALL Players will receive a Certificate and Award at the end of the year.
