2026 Season Registrations offically opens Feb 1, 2026  For Tball - Jr Pony.

Owosso Youth Baseball will NOT be offering a Sr Pony League this year.  Those looking to play Sr Pony are encouraged to look to neighboring communities that may offer a program.

For our Minor League parents, here is a copy of the rule for the new Coach pitching on the 3rd walked batter.   Please understand that this is new this year for all players, coaches, and umpires so please be patient with them.

Coach Pitching (Minor league only)

Coach pitching will start after the same pitcher has walked 3 batters in a row in one inning. The 3^rd walked batter will not be awarded first base, but have their coach take over pitching to them with the same strike count as was achieved by the kid pitcher. If a new pitcher replaces the pitcher who started the inning, the walk count resets and the coach will not resume pitching until the second (or any subsequent) pitcher walks 3 batters in a row in the same inning.  When the coach enters the game to pitch to a hitter from his team, the pitch count will continue with the same strike count as achieved with the kid pitcher. Pitches from the coach pitcher can be called strikes by the umpire. The coach pitches to the batter until the batter puts the ball in play or strikes out. Batters hit by a coach pitcher will not be awarded first base. The coach must pitch by maintaining contact to the pitching plate with his or her foot. The coach pitcher can not kneel. The pitch must be thrown overhand. The pitch should be thrown at a firm speed. When the coach pitches, the defensive pitcher must stand immediately either to the left or right of the coach. The defensive pitcher must stay even with pitching rubber and be no closer to home plate. When the coach is pitching, runners can NOT advance on passed balls, wild pitches, or attempt to steal bases. The pitching coach is considered part of the playing field. If a batted ball hits the pitching coach, it is considered a live ball. A coach pitcher shall make no attempt to field a batted ball. The penalty for a coach pitcher fielding a batted ball is that the batter-runner is out and runners do not advance. The only exception to the above rule is if a coach pitcher catches a line drive in order to protect himself from bodily harm. The coach pitcher may not move in any direction to field a line drive hit directly back at himself. This play is under the umpire’s discretion to ensure that the coach pitcher needed to field the batted ball in order to avoid injury. In the case of a coach pitcher catching a line drive to prevent injury, the batter is NOT out. If there are less than 2 strikes this will count as a strike. If there are 2 strikes this will be considered a foul ball. The pitching coach must leave the field immediately once a ball is put in play by the batter, without interfering with the defense or instructing the batter, or runner(s). Pitches thrown by the coach pitcher will not be counted as pitches that go against the pitch count of the kid pitcher.

In OYB, rules of sportsmanship must be followed at all times.

Any derogatory references to race, gender, etc. will be dealt with warnings, expulsion,

and potential forfeiture of game(s).

Metal cleats  are NO longer allowed on the Jr Pony, 14U field.

They are NOT allowed on any other field (rookie, minor, or major).

Please note: Most other 14U Teams DO NOT allow the use of metal cleats.

Based on that fact, plastic molded cleats would be recommended.
