Rangers Ride Lindsay's Arm to Fifth Consecutive RRABL 18+ Title

SHREVEPORT, La. – The 2025 Red River Adult Baseball League 18+ Division season was the most tightly contested race in recent history. The Elysian Fields  Rangers, the Shreveport Firedogs, and the Twin City Trash Pandas all finished in a three-way tie as the regular season champions with identical 6-5 records. After tiebreakers settled the seeding, a close 7-5 Trash Pandas win over the Firedogs in the semifinal gave way to a nail-biting 2-1 victory for the Rangers in the finale to close out the hard-fought season.

Elysian Fields pitcher Trey Lindsay hurled a complete game, striking out 17 across nine innings while allowing five hits, five walks and one run in leading the Rangers to their fifth consecutive championship and nine of the last ten overall. His 17 punchouts were a league-high for 2025 and a personal best.

Lindsay only provided half of the stellar pitching on the evening as Austin Stoner was nearly as impressive for the Trash Pandas. The righthander tossed eight innings of two-run ball while surrendering seven hits, six walks, and six strikeouts in the tough loss.

The offensive opportunities were limited for both teams and the game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning. The Rangers began a small rally when Morgan Roberts doubled to left field and Collin Eatman walked to put two runners on with no outs. A pick off attempt at second base proved costly as the throw went into center field, allowing both runners to advance 90 feet. A ground out to third base by Michael Crews brought the game’s first run home and moments later a two-out single up the middle off the bat of Alex Woinski pushed across the Rangers second run.

Elysian Fields held the 2-0 lead until the top of the sixth inning when Pandas catcher Austin Mak singled to right field to lead off the frame. After Mak stole second base, Lindsay struck out the next two batters, but Edward Burnett came up clutch with a two-out liner over the shortstop to cut the deficit in half.

Clinging to the 2-1 advantage, Lindsay powered down the back stretch, recording strikeouts on eight of the final nine outs to secure the league title. The Rangers newcomer was named team MVP for his stellar effort on the mound this season, as well as his success at the plate with his .412 batting average and a team-leading 10 RBI.

Catcher Dustin Russell paced the Elysian Fields offense, going 3-for-4 while also calling a great game behind the dish. Roberts collected two hits for the Rangers.

Mak proved to be a thorn in Lindsay’s side for the Trash Pandas, pounding out three hits and working a walk to reach base safely in all four trips. Burnett’s RBI single and a double by Kenny McCarrell were the only other Twin City batters to collect a hit.

The 2025 RRABL World Series title is the 13th overall for the Rangers franchise, who began play in the league in 2001.

Rats Dominate, Win Second Straight RRABL 30+ Title

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Red River Rats led the regular season, the semifinal and the final from wire to wire to earn back-to-back Red River Adult Baseball     League World Series Championships. The Rats finished the 2025 campaign with an 11-3 record after dispatching the Redbirds, 11-2, in the finals.

Newcomer Blake Morgan served as a one-man wrecking crew, tossing a complete game from the mound while also going 5-for-5 at the plate. The southpaw shut down his opponent by hurling 152 pitches, allowing only four hits and striking out seven over his eight innings of work. He served as the offensive catalyst for the Rats by collecting three singles, a double and a triple while scoring three runs from the leadoff spot in the lineup.

The Rats jumped out early with four runs in the top of the first inning on four hits and a catcher’s interference. After a single run in the second inning, Red River surged again for another four runs in the third inning behind an inning-opening double from Carlos Rosario and then four consecutive two-out hits from Murphy Shelton, Matt Helms, Morgan, and Jerome Murphy. They would go on to add runs in the fourth and fifth innings to round out their scoring.

The Redbirds struggled to solve the Rats’ flamethrower, only scratching out a pair of hits and a walk through the first four innings. They got on the board in the fifth inning after a double from Seth Winterer, a wild pitch and an RBI ground out by Brent Rawls. The Redbirds managed only one more run on the evening, which came on an RBI groundout from Steve Mathews that plated Turner Brasher in the eighth inning.

In addition to Morgan, other Rats standouts included Rosario, Helms, Murphy and Joe Lockhart who all tallied two hits in the victory. Murphy added three RBI. Morgan and Cedric Magee finished with two RBI apiece. Winterer paced the Redbirds, going 2-for-2 with a walk to go with his run scored.

During the trophy presentation, Rats skipper Zane Nipper announced Murphy and Rafael LeBron as co-MVPs for the season.

The RRABL title is the tenth overall for the Rats franchise who began as the Astros in 2001 and took on their current moniker in 2005. They are the most tenured club in the 30+ Division and are rivaled in years only by the Rangers (originally the Cubs) in the 18+ Division.

About Our League

Welcome to the Red River Adult Baseball League (RRABL). Based in Shreveport, Louisiana, we are a recreational baseball league for mature and responsible adults affiliated with the national Men's Senior Baseball League organization. We have two player requirements. First, players must be finished with their college and high school playing careers to play in our league. Second, you must be at least three years removed from affiliated professional ball to participate in the RRABL.

We have two age divisions, 18 and older and 30 and older. Both age divisions play a 12-game schedule. We have teams and players that represent North Louisiana, East Texas, and Southern Arkansas (the region known locally as the Ark-La-Tex). The 2009 season was the first year we operated as the RRABL after serving as the Shreveport-Bossier Men's Senior Baseball League since 1993. We are a wood bat league that plays primarily on the weekends from late-April to the end of August.

Players can register anytime and join even if the season has already begun. Please email league president David Pratt at redriverbaseball@gmail.com for more information. Individual players or entire teams (entire teams can only be added prior to the season) may join. Players of all skill levels are welcome. No interested player will be turned away (as long as a player's lack of skill doesn't put them at serious risk of danger).

Please fill out our Interested Player form (located towards the top right corner of our welcome page or you can click on the "Forms" tab located on this page, and then click "Online Forms") and a league representative will contact you as soon as possible. If you know you want to play for sure, please fill out the Summer Registration form.

"Don't Go Soft. Play Hard."

Interested in Joining the RRABL?

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Red River Adult Baseball League in either the *18+ Division or the 30+ Division, just take one of the following steps.

1) If you already know you want to play for sure, simply click on the "Summer Registration" link at the right side of the home page. There you can fill out the registration form and it will be sent directly to the league. Payment of the league fee is NOT required at the time of registration. If you are a new player without a team, you will be contacted quickly.

2) If you have questions about the league before you sign up, click on the "Interested Player Form" at the top right portion of the home page. This does not sign you up, instead it sends your contact information to the league and someone will contact you to answer your questions.

3) If you would like to start a new team, please submit either the Summer Registration or the Interested Player Forms mentioned above. When the league representative reaches out to you, please mention that you would like to start a new team. Team managers must be 21 years of age or older.

The season for both age divisions begins in late April. The 18+ Division plays 12 regular season games and the 30+ Division also plays a 12-game regular season schedule. Current league fees are as follows: 18+ Division $240, 30+ Division $240. A draft workout for new players is held in March each year. Details on this season's draft workout date will be released once finalized. Anyone wishing to join after the draft will be added to the waiting list and notified when/if a roster spot opens.

Our league has grown so much since it began in 1993. With your help, we can continue to grow in providing enjoyable adult baseball to the Ark-La-Tex area.

*18+ Division is intended for players who have finished high school level baseball but do not intend to play baseball in college or have already finished their college career completely. This is not a collegiate summer league and those intending to play ball in college, at any level, are not eligible and should not register for the RRABL. Professional players must be three years removed from the date of their last game before joining the RRABL. You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to serve as coach/manager of a team in the RRABL.

Waiting List: Play for Free While You Wait!

Even if all coaches report full rosters, that doesn't mean new players can't play. If you are interested in playing in either the 18+ or 30+ divisions for the current season, please fill out the Summer Registration form and join the Waiting List. When a roster spot opens, which isn't uncommon, coaches will take players from the Waiting List to fill those spots. You could be officially added to a team anytime until after the midpoint of the season. If you are added, you will pay a pro-rated fee based on the amount of games left in the season when you join. However, you may still get to play even if a permanent spot does not open this season.

The RRABL consists of adults who have plenty of responsibilities outside of our baseball league. As a result, there may be weekends when a team has trouble fielding a full roster. When this occurs, the league will contact players from the Waiting List to fill in for the game. Not only does this help the team, but it allows the player on the Waiting List to play and experience the RRABL, as well as build relationships with players and coaches that may aid in earning a roster spot long term. There is no cost to play as a substitute player. If you join a team permenantly at any point, then you will pay the pro-rated league fee at that time.

Register today and a league representative will contact you and discuss the Waiting List with you.

*Substitute players are subject to the borrowed player rules that state which position they must play and where they must bat in the order.

League Rules Available on RedRiverBaseball.com

If you are looking for some light league-related reading to help you get your fill of baseball, check out the "League Rules" tab. The RRABL rules are available on our website, located on the menu at the top of the page.

If you haven't already, I encourage all players and coaches to read the full rule book in order to be more familiar with the rules in specific situations as they arise on the playing field.

Website Tip: Finding League Stat Leaders

In getting familiar with our website, I am sure that some of our newer league members have not been able to find everything they are looking for. With that in mind, from time to time, I will post tips for commonly used features that may take an extra step or two to find until everyone has a good grasp on navigating RedRiverBaseball.com.

This week's tip is on how to find stats in regards to the league leaders for both individual and team categories. Just follow the simple steps below:

1. Click on the "Results" link from the menu bar at the top of any page throughout the site. Then click on "Standings" in the drop down menu. This will take you to a page that shows the current league standings.

2. Once on the league standings page, go to the drop down box at the top of the page that is denoted by the word "Category." Click on the drop down box and then choose the league stat leaders category you wish to view. That's all there is to it.

If you wish to view your team's individual stats only, click on the "Teams/Rosters" link from the menu bar at the top of the page and then choose your team's name in the drop down box.
