Great Start to the 2018-19 Season
Hello Renaissance Family!
We've had a great start to the season. All of our teams played well in their first week; this is especially true of our undefeated 5th grade team and our 3rd grade team who won their battle against Big Walnut after 4 OT's. Wow. We are looking forward to many more exciting (winning) weekends to come this season.
If anyone has photos or videos from games that they'd like shared on the site or on IG, please send to Coach Joe.

Welcome to the 2018-2019 Season-Please READ
Hello Parents,
Welcome to another winter season with Renaissance University Seminoles. We are entering our third year and the program has made great strides to become prominent in the area. We are striving to make the program more efficient and better overall. Through the two years, there’s been ups and downs, but we’ve learned from the mistakes and are moving forward with the aspirations of being great. As stated many times, this program will always be about the kids coming first. This program is not about winning and losing as we care about the development of the children. Education is a major component in our program as well. We have resources for any child that is struggling with problems in the classroom or at home so feel free to use them.
Entering this new season we will participate in COBA (Central Ohio Basketball Association) which will be a travel basketball league. Teams competed last year having a great time, so we want to continue that.
Here are a few new rules we have instituted:
“In The Car” Policy
Parents are not permitted to scream at their kid or other people’s kids during games. Reason being, coaches can’t compete with parents and it makes it hard to coach the kid. If this happen, our coaches have been instructed to take the kid out the game.
“Respectful Fan” Policy
We have been great for the most part with dealing with fans. Sometimes emotions get very intense and tempers flare between parents. We are all about respect, I encourage our parents to be mindful of our program and not to embarrass us by letting any parent get you out of character. We are a representation of our children.
“No Call No Show” Policy
Players that do not show up to a game or practice without any call to team parents will be disciplined. We know that things happen, and people have other priorities, but we need to know in the case of having to cancel games.
“The Schedule” Policy
The game and practice schedule is done and completed. If you are going to be absent for any game or practice let us know now. I expect every kid on our roster to be at every game, no exceptions.
“Coach Bus” Policy
Some games coaches will pick players up from a central location and take them to games and then drop them back off to the location. This also means parents cannot rely on coaches only to get your child to practice/games. Arrange your ride situation or communicate with our team parents to see if we can assist you. Under no circumstances are coaches responsible for bringing your child to and from practice and games.
“Payment Policy”
Payments are no longer accepted in cash. Payments will be accepted via cash app from here on out. The reason being is that we need ledgers for all transactions and it is easier to keep up with transactions electronically.
“Team Fee” Policy
If there is any issue with team fees not being paid in full the season will stop until they do. It is not fair to parents that pay their fee on time that other parents don’t pay their fees on time and holds up gym rental for practices and other expenses. Each parent is responsible for their child’s fees.
“Love” Policy
If we can please encourage all the kids with positive feedback that would be great. Our children do not need to feel like this is a job for them, this is for them to have fun and grow.
“45 Mins” Policy
Please show up to all games at-least 45 mins early. Therefor kids can warm up and stretch out.
Practice Times
Practices will be 1 weekday (Friday) and 1 weekend day (Saturday). The reasoning for this is that it can be difficult for the children to focus on school with practice during the week. Right now, our practice schedule is:
8pm-10pm - Friday
4pm-6pm – Saturday
Our Practice schedule will stay the same the entire winter season. This will change periodically when we start to play games on the weekends which would cancel out those weekend practices.
Fees
Our fees will be the same as last year for Winter ($375). Instead of two payments we will make it three payments. The first payment is due Friday, October 26, 2018.
Payment Schedule -
10/26- $150.00
11/16- $125.00
11/30- $100.00
Parents may also pay the entire balance up front if they prefer.
Please understand if your fees are not paid your child will be unable to participate.
First Installment of Fees Due on October 26th
Our fees will be the same as last year for Winter ($375). Instead of two payments we will make it three payments. The first payment is due Friday, October 26, 2018.
Payment Schedule -
10/26- $150.00
11/16- $125.00
11/30- $100.00
Parents are welcome to pay all fees upfront if they prefer.
Please understand if fees are not paid, your child will not be allowed to participate.
Practice Schedule Set (All Teams)
Practices will be 1 weekday (Friday) and 1 weekend day (Saturday). The reasoning for this is that it can be difficult for the children to focus on school with practice during the week. Right now, our practice schedule is:
8pm - 10pm - Friday
4pm - 6pm – Saturday
Our Practice schedule will remain the same for the entire Winter season. However, this schedule will change periodically when the season begins and games are scheduled on these dates. Should a scheduled game fall on Friday or Saturday, practice will be cancelled.
Schedules being Updated
Hello Parents!
Just a heads up. Please pay close attention to which team you are viewing schedules for as we are adding more team schedules to the site each week. Thank you to everyone for their patience as we get the site updated to serve all of the Renaissance teams.
Have a great weekend and GO 'NOLES!!
