When does registration open?

Registration opens February 1, 2026 for all age groups.

Will 12U stay 12 and under, or will it be 13U again?

This depends on how many kids sign up. Our goal is to make sure every child who wants to play can play. If we need to adjust the age group, we will — and we will contact families who may be affected.

Do you have to live in Swartz Creek or go to Swartz Creek schools to join?

No. All players are welcome, no matter where they live, as long as they can commit to the schedule.

Will there be an 18U team this year?

If enough players sign up, we will have an 18U team.
If there are not enough players, we will refund the division fees.
A final decision will be made around May 2026.

Why did prices go up this year?

Costs for equipment and field upkeep have increased. SCYB helps maintain five baseball fields, which includes:

• Leveling fields with crushed limestone
• Removing weeds
• Dragging fields
• Providing practice baseballs and age‑appropriate game balls
• Supplying helmets for younger divisions
• Maintaining pitching machines
• Paying for student and certified umpires
• Player Recognition Awards
• Division and Playoff awards/trophies 
• Raking and chalking fields for games

We work hard to keep fees as low as possible, and volunteers are always appreciated!

Can I request a coach?

Players in 4U and 6U may request a specific coach or ask to be placed on the same team as another player. Please email these requests to youthbaseballsc@gmail.com.

For all other divisions, teams are drafted by our volunteer coaches, and coach or teammate requests are not part of the draft process.

Can I register after March 15, 2026?

Late registration may be possible, depending on how many players are already signed up, how many teams we can form, and how many volunteer coaches we have. Please email youthbaseballsc@gmail.com to ask if late registration is available.

Approved late registrations will include a $25 late fee.

Divisions 15U and 18U will have a longer registration window, which will be announced closer to the start of their season.

Will pictures be taken for purchase?

Yes. SCYB plans to arrange team and individual photos, and more details will be shared as we get closer to the start of the season.

What does my player need for baseball?

Players should come to practice wearing long athletic pants or baseball pants unless their coach advises otherwise. Baseball cleats (preferred) or tennis shoes are required for all practices.

• For 4U, players need white baseball pants, a glove, a baseball helmet, and baseball cleats or tennis shoes.
• For 6U, players need baseball pants (color TBD), baseball cleats, a glove, and a baseball helmet.
• For 8U–18U, players need baseball pants (color TBD), baseball cleats, a glove, a bat, and a baseball helmet.

All players will receive a team jersey and baseball hat provided by their team sponsor!
