Team Iowa Softball participants will honor the game and have respect for the ROOTS of the game:

Rules:  We refuse to bend / break the rules to win.

Team Iowa Expectations & Code of Conduct

General:

· Take pride in yourself, what you have, and your ability.  Be a role model on and off the field.

· Respect your teammates and the game.  Be positive when helping a teammate. 

· Raise your softball IQ, work to gain knowledge of the game.

· Encourage good sportsmanship, and not trash talk teammates, coaches, fans, or other opponents.

· Always remember that you represent your family, Team Iowa Softball, and each other.  Represent with pride and respect.

· Challenge yourself to do more than what is asked of you.  Learn other positions and don’t limit yourself.

· When outdoors, (preferable black) liners, undershirt, underarmour, etc. needs to be worn when the weather is below 60 degrees.

Communication:

· If you are injured or sick and cannot participate, you need to let your coach know.

· If you are unable to attend a practice, team event, game; you need to let your coach know.

· Provide schedules of other activities that you are in to your coach.

· Communicate!  Communicate!  Communicate!

Practice:

· Safety First!

· Improve your sills, (PRACTICE TO WIN).  Give 110% to get better.  Your effort will make you better.

· Practice with CONFIDENCE, aggressiveness, and a positive attitude to Honor the Game.

· Be prepared for practice; bring your gear, dress for the weather.

· Wear you Team Iowa gear to practice and events, be proud of your team.

· Wear pants to practice and bring your equipment, be ready for the drills.

Games:

· Play each and every pitch like it is your last.  Play with no regrets!

· Play with CONFIDENCE, aggressiveness, with positive attitude to Honor the Game.

· The play is not over until the ball is at the pitcher’s mound or the officials tell you.

· Be ready to warm up as designated by your coach.

· No negative comments or other expressions towards umpires and or other players.

· Playing time is not up for discussion.  Your effort will be rewarded. 

· Sprint on and off the fields.

· Throwing of equipment will not be tolerated.

· Each player is responsible for their belongings.

· Thank the umpires and your parents for their effort and support.

Parents will:

· Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating support for all players, coaches and officials at every game.

· Demand a sports environment free of drugs and alcohol.

· Remember that the games are for the kids.

· Not use profanity.

· Not undermine the coaches’ decisions.

· Communicate my concerns through the proper channels in a dignified manner.

· Allow 24hrs cool-down, regarding communications between coaches for disagreements.

As Information:

- Team Playing in League -

The Greater Omaha Softball League runs ten weekday nights in Omaha the schedule will come out in April.  We will play two games each night.

- All Teams -  

Tournaments - run Friday thru Sunday with pool play games on Friday and Saturday. We make every attempt to play all our pool play games on Saturday to avoid Friday nights.  This may not always be possible.  Sundays are usually elimination tournament day with the seeding coming from pool plays games.  The higher you get seeded on Sunday the later in the morning you usually have to play.  Schedules for the tournament games will not come out until Wednesday or Thursday on the week of the tournaments so will not have info on game times until late each week.

Team Information

Getting ready to play. . . .   There is nothing soft about it!

Team Iowa Softball is sponsored by the non-profit Logan 18 & Under Softball Organization created to teach competitive fastpitch softball fundamentals.  The goal is to provide an opportunity to female athletes wishing to develop their abilities to compete in high school varsity level while preparing for college softball.  We are based in Logan, IA; however, players from all communities are welcomed and encouraged to participate if willing to develop, learn, volunteer, and work for a team goal. 

This Years Rosters!!! 

Players are taught team work and game strategies with emphasis on fundamentals.  These athletes will compete at numerous tournaments across the midwest and assist with the development of youth softball players in their community.

They are assisted by a coaching staff of Bill Holcomb, Tom Housh, Kylee Glennie, Tim Rife, Haleigh Rife, Jeremey Dunn, Jamie Evans, Jason Sporrer, Troy Yoder, Curt Brich, Shad Hornbeck, along with everyones families and other outstanding members of the community. 

We have players from Blencoe, Carson, Charter Oak, Dow City, Dunlap, Griswold, Hinton, Honey Creek, Ida Grove, Little Sioux, Lawton, Logan, Magnolia, Mapleton, Merrill, Missouri Valley, Mondamin, Neola, Oakland, Onawa, Pisgah, Sergeant Bluff, Sioux City, Turin, Ute, and Woodbine, IA.
