Welcome, and thank you for choosing to attend Texas Christian High School. You have elected to attend a school that emphasizes the highest quality education and the mentoring of Christian morale of the student as a well-rounded, mature youth of character and integrity.

Texas Christian’s Athletic Department wants athletics to be a vital component to the education process. Athletes can be taught to compete properly within a set of rules while learning to face wins and losses with grace. Athletics provide an avenue for the student to learn from the highs and lows, successes and failures, accomplishments and setbacks, which will help our student athlete move toward maturity. Through athletics, the student can find enjoyment, personal satisfaction, accomplishment, friendship, and gratification. We aim to help develop within each student a positive self-appreciation, along with the respect of his/ her teammates, coaches, parents, and community. Athletics provide another area where the student can develop fully the gifts and talents God has given him/ her. Athletics serve to unify all individuals, including coaches, student-athletes, and families, in a spirit of peace through or Lord and Savior Jesus.

Texas Christian School offers interscholastic athletics through the Texas Association of Private and Parochial School at the high school level and, through the West Houston Christian Athletic Conference/ Independent League, at the Junior High school level. Our comprehensive program is geared toward the involvement of the entire Texas Christian community. By participating in competitive athletics, offered from the 6th grade year through the highest levels of competition at the varsity level, student-athletes develop the qualities described in our purpose of serving the Lord to mentor our student athletes, which elevates development of all dimensions of their spiritual lives. Athletics reinforce the qualities of sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, and good judgment. These influences help the student-athlete effectively perform, lead, and deal with stress, competition, and interpersonal relationships, both on an individual basis and as part of the team. Texas Christian’s Athletic Program promotes the physical, mental, moral, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being of the student-athlete as he/ she learns to be responsible for his/ her own actions and his/ her place on the team.

Texas Christian High School Athletics extend the work of Texas Christian High School by offering another environment in which high human and spiritual ideals can be fostered to help children grow towards a deeper understanding of themselves and their roles in God’s great world. Thank you for doing your part to help positively affect and develop the lives of all children by building a peaceful environment within our school.
