LEAGUE RULES

TEE-Ball  3 Innings

Coaches determine tee or pitch. We start each child batting with the tee and progress to coaches pitching. Maximum 5 pitches per plate appearance with the tee coming back if the at-bat is unsuccessful. Every child gets on base every inning, advancing one base at a time. The last batter hits a home run and clears the bases. After the last batter scores, the other team comes off the field. One player per team gets a game ball at the end of the game.

*THE GOAL IS TO HAVE FUN

DOUBLE A

3 Innings

Balls hit to the outfield are doubles.

We teach positions, covering bases and trying to get outs (However, they don't count yet).

Every batter hits once per inning

*GOAL IS TO HAVE FUN WHILE LEARNING

TRIPLE A

Games are 2 hour maximum. Kids pitch.

If a pitcher hits 2 batters, he must be replaced as pitcher.

3 outs or 4 runs per inning.

Umpires control the game.

Sportsmanship is essential.

HEART GUARD SHIRTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY.

* GOAL IS FUN AND LEARNING. TRI_HAMLET BELIEVES THAT YOU CHILD WINS WHILE LEARNING TO BE THE BEST PLAYER AND PERSON THEY CAN BE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q- Who is allowed in the dugouts?

A- Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Players are the only ones allowed in the dugouts. Parents must sit outside the dugouts. Gates will be closed once the game start so that your children are safe. We suggest that you bring seating with you.

Q- What is a returning player?

A- A returning player is a player returning to the same team, and the player must have played for that team in the same year. This requires the Coach to return as well. Returning players get a discount because they already have a uniform.

Q- What is involved in volunteering to Coach?

A- The Coach schedules practices at his or her convenience. The Coach contacts his players for games, practices or game cancellations. As a thank you to our Coaches, Tri-Hamlet waives registration fees for our Coaches' children. Your child is placed on the team you are Coaching. Text 631-478-7868 for instructions regarding how to register without fees (for Coaches only) please.

Q-How long are the games?

A- Tee ball and Double A are 3 innings or 90 minutes. Triple A is 6 innings or 2 hours

Q- Do you use umpires?

A- In triple A we use kids that we pay. These kids have graduated from our program. We do this because our umpires are instructional to our players. In addition it also is a safe first job for kids.

Q- My child would like to play but I am going through a hard time?

A- Tri-Hamlet Sports has never turned away a child for lack of money. We will waive the registration fee. In addition, if you do not have a glove, we can provide a gently used one.

Q- Where are the games played?

A- All games are played at Robert A. Miller Field (Legion Field) on Washington Ave in Mastic Beach. We have bathrooms as well as a concessions shack. We welcome volunteers to help with concessions.

Q- Can I volunteer for anything besides Coaching.

A- Yes we need concessions help, egg hunt help as well as dugout monitors to help get the kids lined up to bat. As a safety precaution, we only allow the on deck batter to have a bat in there hands.

Q- When is registration?

A- Registration is done online and closes about three weeks before each season starts. We need that time to form teams and order uniforms. Registration start and end dates are on this site as well as the school spring flyer  .

Q- How many teams do you have?

A-That is dependent on how many people volunteer to Coach. The more Coaches we have the more kids we can have play.

Q- What is included in my team uniform?

A- A team hat, baseball pants and a team tee shirt  with the players last name on the back and a choice of uniform number.

Q- Can I request a particular team or to play with a friend?

A- Yes we try to accomodate every request but the request must be on the completed registration form. The team must have available space and the registration must be completed before the end registration date.

Q- If i choose to Coach will my child be on my team?

A-Yes. Please let us know your child's last name as sometimes the Coach and child don't have the same last name.

Q- When are practices?

A- Each individual Coach schedules practices when it is convenient for them.

Q- When are the games?

A- All games are included on the schedules that are posted on the facebook page.

Q- After I register, when will I know what team I'm on?

A- Teams are formed about two weeks before the season starts. A coach will contact you once that's done.

Q- How do I know if a game is cancelled?

A-Coaches are notified at least an hour before the game. We also post all cancellations on our facebook page. There are no make-ups.

Q- What does my child need to play?

A- You need a baseball glove. If you do not have one, we have a limited supply of gently used gloves. Tri-Hamlet recommends that each child wear a heartguard shirt for games and practices.

Q- Why should my child sign up to play baseball?

A- Baseball and Tri-Hamlet Sports Club teach so much more than just the game of baseball. Our goal is to make every child the best player they can be while teaching the game i love. Your child will also learn to work with others through team work.

We do not control the weather. Games will be cancelled due to poor weather or poor field conditions. There are no rescheduled or make-up games.
