Fall Lacrosse 2019

Folks we are finalizing our fall lacrosse plans.  Here is what we have so far, I was hoping to have definitive dates but we are still waiting on several items:

  • We entered 1 team in the Varsity division of the Upper Dublin Lacrosse league, which will take place Sunday mornings beginning September 15.  We are still waiting on the schedule.  An invitation was sent out to all returning varsity players and several of the upper classman that were on JV last year.  If your son was not included but would like to be included as an alternate please email coach Conway at mmconway25@gmail.com.  ****All returning players that are participating in WHS Fall Sports at the Varsity level are not permitted to play as a courtesy to those varsity teams.
  • All players (9th grade - 12th grade) are invited to participate in skills clinics on Wednesday nights 7-9pm.  Our first session will take place next Wednesday September 11.  We are waiting to hear back on the remaining sessions.  Typically we will have most if not all of the Wednesdays up until Thanksgiving week.
  • Please continue to strength train and condition on your own to prepare for the upcoming season.

Summer Workout Schedule - 2019

June 13, 2019

 

We will be doing a combination of 2 workout per week with Coach Rodney Cline in the High School Weight room on Mondays & Thursday and 1 night of stick skills and team concepts on Monday evenings with lacrosse coaches on the Wissahickon High School Turf Field.  Weight room entrance is located near the aquatics entrance (next to the new Veterans Memorial).  ALL PLAYERS THAT ARE IN TOWN ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND, UNLESS LIFTING WITH ONE OF YOUR FALL SPORTS TEAMS.  Bring water to all events.

  3. Enable Pop - Ups through the app

HUDL allows college coaches the ability to get up-to-date player info and highlight videos in one place. Please take the time to keep this information accurate & current.  Opponent Scouting videos will also be available through this site.  

 IMPORTANT:  Per District rules No Student is to have direct ‘social media’ or text / phone contact with one of the coaches.  The coaches will use the following to communicate directly

Wissahickon Athletics Team Rules

The Wissahickon Athletic Department has standardized the "Team Rules" to be consistent and apply to all sports teams at Wissahickon High School. We will be following the 3 Strike Policy recommended by the Athletics Departments. 

Excused absences are generally in one of the 3 categories:

  1. Grade Bearing Academic Reasons (tests, classes or field trips - must be related to recieviing a grade)
  2. Religious Reasons / Holidays
  3. Family Emergencies / Funerals, etc.

All other reasons for missing a practice or game are considered unexcused.
