TEAM RULES

1. As a member of an interscholastic team, you are required to be at all practices and all meets.

  • Attendance will be taken daily.

  • Your obligation is to be at every practice and every meet throughout the season.

  • All other activities such as medical appointments, college visits, vacations should be planned around your practice/meet schedule.

  • If there is any conflict, you must contact the Head Coach Directly via E-mail or in person

  • Any absence of any kind the day of a meet or at the practice the day before a meet, will have consequences of participation in following or subsequent meets.  

 

**Excessive absences will limit your participation in competitions and may lead to your dismissal from the team and your ability to earn a Varsity letter

 

2. You will not be allowed to practice with the team until all permission slip/contracts/physical forms are completed and turned into the nurse's office. They must also be cleared by the school doctor.

 

3. We will be leaving for practice immediately after school. Do not miss the bus.

*On days when school is out of session, be at the high school 30 minutes before the scheduled practice time.

 

4. If you are absent from school, you are not allowed to participate in practice or meet on that day. If you are absent for reasons other than illness, your participation must be approved by the head coach and the athletic director.

 

5. Injuries should be reported to one of the coaches immediately so that proper action can be taken. If you are injured and unable to practice, you should come to practice/meets anyway to support your teammates.

 

6. You must be in school on time for homeroom on the day of a competition. If you think there is a problem, please contact the head coach.

 

7. All members of the team must travel to and from all meets on the bus provided by the Board of Education. Only your parents/guardians can pick you up from a meet and only in an emergency. Otherwise you will be expected to take the bus home.  I need an email or hand written note with signature from your parents/guardian the day before the meet.

 

8.Act in a mature and responsible manner while representing SBHS. Failure to do so could mean suspension or removal from the team.

 

9. You are responsible for having your meet suit, cap, goggles, towels, and any other equipment you need for practice and meets.








10. Anyone who is swimming for a club team and has practice conflicts must speak directly to Coach Webb about his/her practice schedule.Your club team must meet 3-5 times per week to be eligible for this agreement

  • Anyone swimming for a club must attend practice/meets for a minimum of 2 times/week.

  • Open swim or lap swim on your own does not count as a club team or practice.

  • If not at a High School Swim Practice you MUST be at a club practice.

  • All swimmers must be at 6 team practices before they may compete. This is a state rule, and there are no exceptions.

  • Club swimmers will also need to provide Coach Webb with practice schedules, meet schedules, and contact information for their club coach.

  • You must have the club swimmers contract signed and completed before the first meet. Failure to do so may result in loss of participation in meets until handed in.

11.  I will attend any NJSIAA Meet/GMC that I qualify for. (Withdrawal fee associated with event will be incurred by the swimmer.)
