The potent, yet streaky, Alabama Belles offense found its offensive groove against Georgia in an efficient 5-1 victory Tuesday night in the semifinals of the Dixie Softball World Series.
Outside of Georgia's inability to figure out the Alabama pitching staff, the team also had its toughest night defensively since entering the tournament at the Johnny Downs Sports Complex.
Errors both in the infield as well as the outfield proved to be costly for Georgia as Alabama took advantage of the miscues with aggressive base running.
Georgia's lone run of the night came in the fifth inning when the team seemed to be building just enough momentum to close the gap.
Georgia's Kiauna Chang's RBI triple in the inning was both the beginning and end of the rally for the Belles as Alabama proved to be just too much both in the field and at the plate.
The loss was the second of the tournament for Georgia, ending the team's run through the World Series.
