The high school division will begin on June 4th and play on Mondays. The high school division is open to all girls who are going to be in high school next year. Girls who will graduate year of play are not eligible. We are guaranteeing a 10 game schedule with five nights of double headers. All games that are rained out during the scheduled season will be made up in a timely manner although game nights, times, fields, and teams played against may change. The Sedalia Girls Softball League will use local high school rules as approved by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) to govern our league play with the exception of a few in-house rules. We allow metal cleats on our fields, which was a change from a few years ago. Games are seven (7) innings or seventy (70) minutes long, whichever comes first with no new innings starting if less than five (5) minutes are on the clock. Games ending in a tie will play one extra inning using the International Tie Breaker Rule of placing the last batter of the previous inning on 2nd base. If there is still a tie after the one extra inning, the game will end in a tie. Officials, bases, game balls, and schedules will be provided by the league. Each team shall provide its own team shirts, equipment and insurance. A copy of your team’s insurance card/certificate is required for registration. The entry fee for the 2020 season is $500.00. A $100.00 deposit to hold your position for the season is due with registration. We will only guarantee play for the first nine teams that pay their deposit. The remaining $400.00 is due before the first game. If this fee is not paid by that time, your team will not be allowed to play. If the fee is not paid by the second game, your position for the season will be terminated and your $100.00 deposit will be forfeited.
