Welcome to East Islip Ice Hockey 2008-2009. We invite all members and fans to be a part of the premier ice hockey organization on Long Island. We consist of players from the East Islip & Islip School Districts.

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS/PARENTS (UPDATED)

All Players, Parents & Coaches, please take time to read over our updated By-Laws to become familiar with the rules of our club.
If a player or parent has a complaint about anything, our bylaws state that you should first bring it up with your team rep (parent) who will conbtact our GM to bring the board together on it. A player with a problem can discuss it with the coach. It is best not to do this during a game when the coach may not have your full attention. Also realize that if you wait till the next day, you may see things differently than you did during a game.
As you all may know, The Rinx Mgt has reinstated our locker room privileges. At this time we would like to state that our club is on PROBATION and we can't have anyone jeopardize our status with this facility. We all will respect the facility we are playing/practicing at. We are here to play hockey and not to fool around in the lockers or the lobby area. Anyone that feels they can't abide by our club guidelines should not be a member in this club.
Our Code of Conduct Agreement was setup as a means to let everyone know that the club is serious about the way we handle ourselves in this league. This agreement will be read and signed by everyone in the club.

Player/Team Movement
As per SCHSHL League rules, starting Sept 1, 2008, no rostered player may move DOWN a division. Varsity to JV or JV to Freshmen will no longer be permitted. If a player now wants to move down for any reason, they will not be allowed to play until next season. Players can still move UP as per league rules until the end of December. Any movement must be approved by coaching staff and the board. If a player does move, their tuition will be adjusted accordingly.

New Practice times for the Fall
Our last nightime practice will be Monday Sept 15th.
We will be changing our days & times since open ice slots are very limited.
The practice schedule will be updated, so keep checking.
It looks like the practices will be moving to Sat & Sun early mornings.
Tentatively, we have: Sat 9/20 6:15am - 7:15am & Sun 9/21 6:40am - 7:40am. We will announce which teams go to Sat & which go to Sun.
The next few weeks may be changing weekly, but will still be early morning weekends. We are sorry that this has to be, but with the number of rins on the island and the number of teams needing them, we either take these times or don't practice.
Tuition Amounts:
August 11, 2008
We have emailed all teams their respective tuition amounts for the 2008-2009 season. Please keep in mind that tuition will be much more than last season, since the number of games in the regular season went from 20 to 27. Also, many other costs have gone up. The final payment is expected in November and may be adjusted based on any changes that may occur during the season. JV & Freshmen teams will get an extension due to the extended season, extra costs & more than one child playing in the club.
As per our club By-Laws, everyone is expected to be paid up with the season by a certain date (TBD). If not, the Board has the right to suspend a player from games & practices until they are paid up.

Practice changes
Starting September, our practices will move to 6:40pm & 7:40pm. There will not be a practice on Monday Sept 1st, but it will be on Tuesday Sept 2nd. The next 2 practices will go back to Mondays.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Monday Sept 8th Freshmen practice will be for the Freshmen-Red team only. It will be used as their pre-tournament practice. The Freshmen-White players should NOT come down this night.

East Islip has been attending these tournaments in the past and will probably be entering our teams in again this year. This is a good time for the new Fall teams to play together prior to the regular season.
Clear Hockey Tape
For those players who are looking to purchase clear hockey tape, please see Sandy Cassano. We have purchased a large quantity that we will offer to our players at a discounted price. You can purchase tape at games or practices. Don't pay high prices for tape!
Attention Parents!
The league has informed us that under NO circumstance can a parent enter the ice. If your child needs you, an authorized person will escort you onto the ice. Coaches are also asked to stay on the bench unless called over.
Also, according to league rules, only authorized people may enter the locker rooms. No parent may enter a locker room. Only coaches that had a screening form approved may enter a locker room.
If you need to bring your child equipment, etc.. you can knock on the door and have someone bring it to them.
