WHILE WATCHING A GAME I NOTICED THAT A TEAM WAS SHORT ONE PLAYER IN THE FIELD. THE COACH STATED THAT SINCE HE HAD AN INJURED PLAYER AND HAD USED HIS SUBS ALREADY THAT THE UMPIRE TOLD HIM HE COULD NOT USE A SUB FOR THE INJURED PLAYER.I KNOW THIS IS WRONG ACCORDING TO THE PONY LEAGUGE RULE BOOK RULE 4 SECT.3e.BUT LATTER IN THE GAME THE INJURED PLAYER WANTED TO REENTER THE GAME AND WAS DENYED BY THE UMPIRE STATING THAT AN INJURED PLAYER COULD NOT RETURN EVEN IN HER BATTING SLOT.THE RULE BOOK STATES THAT ANY PLAYER MAY REENTER IN THEIR BATTING SLOT, I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ON DENYING THE RETURN OF AN INJURED PLAYER EXCEPT IF AN ALREADY USED SUB TAKES HER PLACE.THE TEAM HAD TO TAKE AN OUT IN HER BATTING SPOT AND PLAY SHORT A PLAYER, AND DENYED THE OPPERTUNITY TO REPLACE HER OR LET HER RETURN. THAT SEEMS LIKE AN EXCESSIVE PENALTY FOR GETTING HURT.

If a player is injured and has to leave the game, an unused sub may enter the game in place of that player. If all substitutions have been done, the injured player may be replaced by the last player taken out of the lineup. This is the only time a player can be moved in the batting order.

Any player who has been removed from the game due to an injury or illness may not return to the game.

Girls softball rulebook page 28 rule 4 section 3e

The rule is for the safety of the injured or ill player. So do not re-enter a hurt or sick player
