	Tony D July 10, 2016 4:35:16 PM Entry #: 4202079	The Holbrook Major MIT team won their first game of the tournament 5-1 today. Devin Mark was dominant for 5 1/3 innings striking out 12 batters. Casey Braun closed out the game on five pitches. Braun and Mark led the way offensively as well. In the bottom of the first Mark drove in two runs with a double scoring Paul Izzo and John Cho. Braun followed with a triple that drove in Mark. Matt Kavanagh singled home Braun to stake Holbrook to a 4 - 0 lead. The boys played excellent defense especially in the sixth where the second and third outs were both recorded at home plate. With bases loaded the batter grounded back to Braun who flipped to Kavanagh at the plate for the force. On the final play of the game there was a sharp liner to center field. Anthony Keneally fielded it and fired to the cutoff man Izzo who fired home to Kavanagh who tagged the runner from second to end the game. It was an all-around great game with an exciting ending to cap it off
