I have been reading the forum for many years and have been coaching for many years. I never post anything just read it and always can see both sides of things. I feel that what was done for the qualifiers to regionals was not proper. I do tell my kids that life is not always fair and whether or not I agree with invites or not I think it must be set at the begining of the season and followed. There are rules to follow and rule books for a reason. I am reading posts about teams practicing 4 nights week etc. I really hope that those practices are not over the 6 hours allowed in 1 week. I also know for a fact that a team that is moving onto Nationals advertises that they will be adding additional practices once competition season starts. Thats not fair rules are rules and should be made to be followed through from EVERY organization . Cheerleading is very subjective and its up to the opinion of the judges which I am ok with. However all teams practice hard and all teams can not move on again I am ok with it. I had to explain to my girls that we had to hit our routine and be clean we had 11 teams on Saturday and although I am not saying we were better what I am saying is how do teams who I saw with my own eyes not hit a pyramid move on. I am not taking away from the teams who moved on but how do I explain to my kids after hitting the routine having competitive difficulty and competitive tumbling etc but yet we don't move on and still don't know where we placed. Unless answers come out I have nothing to change my mind that it was definitely fishy and does not look good for Pop Warner. Good Luck to ALL teams in Disney. I am not angry my girls did what we asked and that was to hit their routine and HAVE FUN! They did just that and for that I couldn't be more proud! :)

Literally so sick of people complaining about the same division over and over again. What's done is done.

may be old to you but still quite fresh in the minds of most girls as this has been most of the conversation on this board. Again I am not mad just stating very obvious problems that have been allowed to occur. I would suggest if it bothers you either don't read it or don't post. I have been reading for a month now and finally just posted. Clearly this has not affected you for the bad either doesn't pertain you at all or you are one of the teams moving on. If so good luck :)

Thesaurus Translations:

n forum ['fo?r?m]

1. a meeting or assembly for the open discussion of subjects of public interest.

2. a medium for open discussion, such as a magazine.

3. a public meeting place for open discussion.

This is a forum, correct? Then I would think discussing topics of public interest meets this criteria... Unless you don't agree with the topic...

Problem is, Kimmy, that while this is a discussion forum, there have been multiple threads discussing this topic. We can ALL agree that the system was flawed but I can guarantee that it will be reviewed for next year.

My suggestion to you and anyone else who feels as strongly as you do to, rather than toss it into this discussion forum, you direct your concerns directly to those who are in the position to address the problems and make the changes.

I DO feel for every team who has been negatively affected by this, so PLEASE do not misunderstand me. My team was affected too.

I worry that the more we beat this dead horse the forum will get shut down before Nationals and I'd MUCH rather see us cheer on our support of EMASS.

HERE WE GO EMASS, HERE WE GO!

LissaB I completely agree with you I do not want to see this shut down. The problem with the higher ups is that they haven't fixed the problem either every year these types of things are allowed to happen. I have been around for many years and see these types of things go down. I am not figting invites or no invites but when the higher up says invites will be out tomorrow(for all kids and parents to hear) and then oops sorry that's not the case and all the other things that went on that's not right. I know I'm probably preaching to the choir but its always allowed. Its hard to interpret attitude through this and please be assured I am not trying to sound bitter because I really am not. Pop Warner is huge but AYF is getting more and more teams and when trying to keep kids in my town with pop warner these types of things warrant parents to go else where. That's my concern and now I am starting to agree with them. Good Luck to all teams! :)

Coachkimmy, I also am a coach in the same division and feel the same way. Not only for my team but a team I have nothing to do with (hopefully it is your team) that had a perfect routine and I truly believe they should have got top 2. If it is your team please let the girls know they did a great job and other teams were hopeing they got to still move on. But really this is nothing we as coaches can do but wish everyone from emass the best of luck and come back stronger next year. Hopefully are 2 team can become friends. I told my team "nothing in life is perfect so take this as a life lesson".
Good luck to everyone at nationals

Coach kimmy, I would like to chat with you about this off this forum because I have a team in the same division with the same feelings but don't want to upset anyone or get this shut down. How do you feel about that? Maybe we can answer eachothers questions. Please keep in touch.

It happened, it's done, let's bury it for a while. But it is an issue that should be addressed in the near future. The reason this topic has been tossed into the forum, is people HAVE directed their concerns to people in charge, but have yet received a reply. This forum is all they had left! They needed someone/anyone, to address the issue at hand. Hopefully they will and people can move on.

Let's focus on ALL our teams from NE Region that are representing us at Nationals!! And let's hope hope that our teams bring home the hardware! Have fun!!

Let me just say, the posts on here have not gone unnoticed. I watch this forum on a daily basis and I take some of it as sour grapes and other parts as issues that need to be talked about. Some of you know me and some don't but I do listen and I do take valid points to the next level. I can't say it will change things, but I do make sure it gets heard. Unfortunately right now I am busy making sure the teams from EMASS have everything they need to go to Nationals and enjoy themselves. January is a time to discuss the issues at hand and see how we as a region can improve it. I want to wish all of the New England teams going to Disney the best of Luck and know everyone is behind you. We are ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL .

I was a coach, head coach and cheer director for many years. It is hard to understand sometimes, for the kids. a team attempting more difficult things will score higher(even if they miss one) than a team that has a perfect routine but not as difficult.
The judges know what they are looking for and if you go back and watch the performances on video you will probably see it too.
Just work harder next year, make your routine as difficult as the team can handle. You don't always place where you think you will, but that's how this sport is. Good Luck in the future!

again I am not mad or bitter or angry about not going (its save me plenty of money). If you read my post what I am saying is not knowing where the other 9 teams placed, backing out on invites(when it was already said it was going to be done) and I don't care about difficult versus not difficult when you have difficult and clean and don't place over teams who had obvious deductions or what should have been a deduction.Like I have already said cheerleading is very subjective again I don't care about that. Stop reading what you want obviously I am not the only one that feels this way. Its not the scoring as much as the not knowing the actual scores. Regional scores are out but not the comp before thats strange those are my concerns not the placement of teams can't fight the judges nor am I trying too.

i said i was done but i'm not kimmy well said. And for being a sore loser that's wrong. That level was not set up right and i think the higher ups see that.Let's just bury it till next year and see who really stands out in that level. GOOD LUCK E- MASS TEAMS
