| All:
I do have a question regarding the 2010 Tournament dates.
This years tournament actually started 1-week early than last year by mistake, but it wasn't able to be changed. Normally the first weekend would have just occurred.
Traditionally, at least the last 10 years or so we've started 3-weeks prior to Labor Day Weekend and always (unless rain occurred) finised the Sunday 2-weeks prior. This year the dates were reserved based on last years caledar dates when Labor Day was as early as possible. However for 2009 Labor Day is the latest it possibly can be, September 7th.
My question is do we prefer to go back to the traditional dates or keep it a week early? I see advantages to both. Several years ago (probably 10) all teams voted and every team except one voted to keep the format as I mentioned above, the traditional format for lack of better terminology. This vote was infavor of actually starting 2-weeks later than this years format and starting the same weekend as B and C do.
Thoughts or comments...or are you just confused?

| Keep it early, had we made it through the first weekend half our team would have been gone back to school and the other college guys were heading back towards the end of the dates this year.
PS: Thanks for putting the time and energy into this year after year.

| Just something else to think about, not to disagree with the two posts, but as Labor Day moves towards September 1ST the start of the State Tournament moves closer to July meaning playoffs may start the weekend after the 4th of July.
If it is determined that we want to stay early there should be a cut-off in my opinion. Stating something to the effect of the tourney can't start before August 1ST for example. In that case it get's pushed back a week.
Just food for thought I guess... I'll be long done before than, or my wife will kill me. But for the younger generation something to think about.
My opinion on changing the dates for school kids, don't make that the reason. Only Division I players aren't allowed to play per the NCAA. Teams have been losing players for school since I can remember, 20+ years. Work around the guys who are out of school because those are the guys that will keep this going. A vast majority of guys quite right after they are done with school or a year or two later. Keep the guys happy that have decided amateur ball is something they want to continue doing.

| something to bring up at the State Tournament meeting this fall (offseason). I imagine there will be some with strong opinions - which is good. I would recommend speaking with your League representative if you have an opinion, thought or idea of how to make the Tournament better. (That way they can bring it up at the State Tourney meeting this offseason)
I look forward to another great tournament next year. Again, thanks to all who put it on and for all of the teams who helped out. (Rosetown, Angels, Cobras, Commanding Edge, SLP, Lyons Pub and probably a couple others.) As well as Mary, Vellek, Mike Cassle, Andre, C Johnson, D Schildgen and probably a few more just dont know the specific names...
