| I have heard through the grapevine that some umpires take offense to perhaps not only my comments but the ones others make here on the forum as well.
For the record I respect umpires if due to no other reason then what they do is not all that easy. Secondly, they are not getting wealthy doing it. Lastly, it is not all it is cut out to be.
With the aforementioned being typed I remind all that this is a forum.
Additionally, from my chair I simply try to make my threads entertaining to read again it is a forum.
More specifically, as it relates directly to umpires...I make the comments I do periodically to actually help them improve. Or rather make it be known what most of us see and believe as baseball players/baseball guys.
None of my comments herein on the dreaded forum are meant to disrespect even though they may come across that way.
Trust me, I would choose my words far more carefully if discussions were to take place outside this forum.
In closing, since I already used this once today in an email to my pub mates

| I've seen a lot of the scoreboard action this year... how many outs? what's the count? Adjusting his clicker to what the board says... really? That $75 is burning a hole in that pocket.

| in all fairness there is a few umps who do a solid job for the most part night in and night out. more less they are consistent, and obviously respect and appreciate the game we love as we do and even occasionally admit when a call is missed, which i appauld.
on the other hand there is a hand full that are just atrocious. these are the guys who are there to get in and get out with a check in hand. the guys who bleed inconsistency and let simple questioning of the strike zone or blown call rattle their cage and lead to a explicit exploitation of power or a point of increasing inconsistency. these guys do not love baseball.
