| Guys, Hope this doesn't get off topic and out of hand. I was just wondering who is the best pure power hitter/slugger in the league. This represents the guy who hits the most home runs each year and is the big time slugger. I'm sure there are a few guys that stick out,I'm not saying their the best players.I know getting on base with a base hit and OBP is more vital. Just want you guys to share your thoughts. Please player(s) stand out. Playing in the MMSPL, there are a few guys that stand out in my head. There is nothing better than hitting a shot off the pitcher and watching it sail over the fence.
Thanks,
Poncho

| If your question was who WANTS to be the best power hitter and who ONLY swings for the fences then Chris from REmax is definitely on the list! Kidding Maybs, you're awesome

| 10 years ago, Big Rick from Travel Lovers would have been the hands down winner. Today, Svelte Rick is in the top 5, but maybe not number 1.

| HR Leader and Uarms, we at Kelsey's appreciate you using this forum for practising your sense of humour, however, perhaps you may have BJ mixed up with Kelsey's wisecracking, iced tea guzzling shortstop! Or maybe you guys are trying to snuggle up to the sponsor in hopes of filling Hatzis' shoes once he leaves?? Surely your arms are not as short as his when it comes to check time after the postgame meal? In reality, Henderson of the School hits the purest and hardest line drive foul shots ever seen, must be all the practise he gets on the first tee at Angus Glen! Fore! See you in the spring!

| Hey, at least they're having fun out there, which is the point of the League.
Especially if they're busting their asses every year to win ONE game, let alone two this year.

| I have not read this forum since October and I am pleasantly pleased that on a day with all that snow we can still converse about the Unionville bigs. I wish I was at Crosby tonight getting ready for the 9:30 game. It is my opinion the premier hitter is an individual who this year switched from the infield to the outfield is the now also the most excellent outfielder that we have. Guess who?

| Batting proficiency combines the three most important dimensions of hitting:
1. the ability to get on base,
2. the ability to hit with power, and
3. the ability to contribute to the team’s run production
That person is Chris Lamarre

| I agree with my earlier statement that Chris Lamarre is one of the best. If you want to see real softball action you need to watch the Village Grocer's team. There is lots of good talent on that team. One to put your money on, they will be fantastic.

| With all due respect to the talent in this league like Hicks and Nate from Jakes who hit some bombs. The best all around player in the league is Dave Houghton, he hits bombs and more bombs, runs like a cheetah, awesome defense and a great arm. He will not take any credit for his talent he brings to the Champs. !

| A pure hitter can do whatever he wants with the bat at any moment. Not just a guy that hits singles, that is just a leadoff batter. Someone that gets on base at anytime, can go yard at the appropriate time and gets that hit in the clutch. My vote is for Bruce of Plumbers. Hey Rook I called it! Welcome back.

| Most Pure Power Hitter/Sluggers are only one dimensional. There are several big bombers in the league. However, if your talking all round players (power, speed, arm, base running, attitude), you can't bet against Steve McKenzie from the Plumbers and Jeff Gayman from Kelsey's !! Hands down, there the two best....

| In slo-pitch softball, you must have a complete range of motion when you are hitting. You gotta have that bat back as far as you can get it because you want to get as much momentum going as you can. When that front foot comes down, that's your signal to go. This gives you as long a swing as possible. Don't give up the swing once you make contact - that's when you have to power it. Now you have my secrets you can hit it out of Ashton.

| Not that I would ever disagree with you Bojack my friend, but I think Widds hits them just as far as Kerr and a slightly more regular pace. I think consistency is a big part of "best". Now, if it we're for a hoops and ball tournament, I'd take Kerr's tomahawks over Widd's crullers any day!
