| I'm probably the last person who should be commenting on a home run rule, since I only hit 2 all year and one didn't even count, but I like it the way it is now - being a strike. By making it a strike it potentially forces a player to have to try to move the ball around a little and keep it in play. Not to mention the strategic aspect to keeping a known power team "stuck at plus 2" so that they have to change their game a bit. Making it a single is boring and one-dimensional. But that's just the opinion of a career warning track power hitter. lol

| Why are we penalizing someone for hitting a dinger? A single is fine.

| I see what you are saying, I just like the fact that by making it a strike it creates a different element to the game. Keeping a team at plus 2 I'm sure has been a factor in at least a few games over the years.

| Playing in a game where guys just keep hitting bombs is boring. Playing in a game where guys hit bombs and just go to first base is boring. If you cannot compensate for the rule or wind or a pitcher giving you pitches outside etc then you are a one dimensional player and that requires zero skill. This should issue should never keep coming up it is a no brainer.

| AHHH the main reason the rule is in place has spoken. If I have done my research right the league had to make substantial adjustments to this rule because some teams have awesome hitters. Someone stood up at the 2004 AGM and requested a rule change and it changed, why? There is my two cents on the matter.
