Memo from the Bisons........I'm currently making some changes in my life. If you don't hear from me anymore, you're probably one of them.

How could a team only have 5 guys returning? Attendance was always a challenge for this team.

They are no longer in the league. A few individuals are sticking around to play and will be drafted to a new team or will remain where they are. A classy guy stepped up and will be drafting a new team from scratch, so we will still have 18 teams. Tough order but I'm sure they’ll be competitive right out of the gate!

The prevailing sentiment says this team will be good. In the current draft parlance, they will get the best five guys.

My favorite player in the draft from the tryouts a few weeks ago is the only guy wearing black. His skills are exactly what we need and he would be a perfect fit for us. I doubt more and more that he will be there, when we pick but he is the guy I want roaming the field for us.

Out with the old & in with the new...
The "new" team replacing the "Flakeboard/Brent Leasing Bisons" will be "Summit/6T6"

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it turned into a butterfly. That is the motto of this team.

To all new players,
Nothing's wrong in showing your love for your team. Show up in a right way. Don’t expect, just make them feel like that they drafted you for your talent.

HOW T CATCH A POP-FLY
1
Get behind the ball before ever considering getting underneath the ball because running up to the ball is easier than running back to get under it. Move lip inward.

2
Move into the ball as it descends. Keep from backpedaling because backpedaling can result in tripping or even running into another player/umpire who is also trying not ot laugh.

3
Commit to catching the pop-up fly ball, which depends on the pecking order of the team. If you call the pop-up, you now have total responsibility for catching the ball. Rely on the fact that the other team won't piss their pants laughing.

4
Catch the ball with both hands in a throwing position of the body (the leg of the throwing arm back in position and opposite leg forward) so you are ready to throw. As opposed to falling to your knees.

5
Practice the movement of the body before actually practicing catching a ball. Once you have the movement down, then have someone throw pop-ups for you to practice.

The worst feeling is when someone makes you feel special, then suddenly leaves you hanging and you have to act like you don’t care at all. That is the story of the beezons.

I think the thing that surprised me most about the "new team" last night was their speed. Young and fast, they will win many games this year.

New liquor laws in Ont. kick in June 1st. Festivals, events will be able to have larger areas where people can walk around freely with drinks. Can't wait for that.
