Can we put a talk about contraction of our league to say 16 teams and expansion of the masters to 8.

If we have say 4 teams that are in trouble, disarray, low numbers, whatever you want you call it....then how about making 2 strong teams from those 4 and add 2 teams to the masters.

Thus making our league more competitive and more room in the masters for those not so competitive but need a space a keep playing. Forget the exemption to help fill our league, just use contraction to lower the number and increase the quality

The bottom two teams should be moved to the Masters.

Let's hope the suggestion above does not force guys to the masters. That ship sailed last year.

You may like to consider:
2 Open Leagues
-One with the very competitive (league exec could determine and rebalance)
-One with the less competitive (league exec could determine and rebalance)

One Masters League
-Masters would include anyone once they turn/or are new to league +50? (new exemptions possible)
-New 40+ year olds would be given the option to try out for Comp or Masters
-competitive teams could “protect” 5? players over 50 year olds – would exclude fathers and sons who wish to play together in the competitive

All the SPN/SPO/NSA tournaments do have age limits to keep players in same age groups playing together.

Breaking up a team without their consent will be a major challenge. Harding Display had the first pick this year and they were a few runs away from playing in the championship game. All teams can improve and thus want to stay together.

Age will take care of getting better/remaining competitive every year - and where will the "vacancies" come from if no one is encouraged to move to the Masters?

For numerous years we have had suggestions to break teams up with league wide drafts etc. The secret sauce that make this league work is playing with guys you like or your relatives hence the unique rules like father/son. The choice to play in the masters is up to the specific person. No individual should be told to move into that division.

The strike rule is a waste of time, no sure if I like any penalty but a walk is a good solution.

In order to produce the necessary quorum of thirty-three (33%) required for an Annual General Meeting, each team shall have at least five (5) players in attendance at the meeting. If the quorum is not reached, teams failing to have five (5) players present will be disbanded. The players present at the meeting from the disbanded team(s) will register in the Group "A" Draft for the following year provided they meet all necessary membership qualifications. Absentee players from the disbanded teams will be eligible only for the Group "B" Draft for the following year provided they meet all necessary membership qualifications.

From what I know, league protocol means a team must have five or more returning players to constitute a team. Any team folding ????

Some people are scared of being great hence they play in other crappy leagues. This is most amount of games I play for the lowest price than any other sport.

We chatted about a study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it and no one discussed the home run rule.
