this happened on my sunday game, one refe on each side, the ball went in for the goal past the line but the goalie went in and stopped it. the refe closest to the play called it a goal, but the older refe came from his side and said it didnt! everyone else saw it go in so i asked the frist refe what was there protocal on there calls and he told me that if he calls something and he knows its right but if the other referee calls it something different then the first is over ruled! MY question is why are we paying two refes if the first one is going to get over ruled by the other at any time it just doesnt make any sense!! they just make the game more tense for everybody! or if there going to be on one side, let that refe call his own side or square!! and the other refe shouldnt blow his whistle for the other refes side just stick to his own side!!

A player can sometimes block the view of a ref, and the trail ref will see it. A two ref system is better than one.

Just as if you watch a game in another sport that has more than 1 official, sometimes they do see different things or an official will make a premature call as was this case.
As in any other sport, officials sometimes have a meeting with each other during the game.
Confusing and frustating as this was, they ultimatly made the correct call.
Remember, no one is perfect.

i understand about the no one is perfect part but its almost at every game, and then it just gets the players upset and then the fans start yelling including bad language and cops have to get called!! iam just trying to give a tip hey maybe it would help if each refee called his own side and didnt infer with each others calls!

Yes. It's funny that some players really expect refs to be perfect. But what television teaches us, time and time again, is that it is very difficult to make correct calls all of the time. If you want to be successful as a player, just assume that a few calls are going to be missed each game and play on. Don't start assuming that refs care who wins the game. Hopefully, we'll "correct" all the players that think they can do whatever they want when they think a ref blew a call. If you can't have fun when a call is missed you should really reconsider why you are playing.

that's pretty dumb how you want to change the players(like 80+ people) instead of talking to your refes(8 people) about the rules and going over with them the way the real soccer is played in "TV" very little do see the side refes go up to the other refe and change his call yeah they might talk about a play, they are there mainly for off sides but we don't play like that out here so let each refe call his side!!! and its pretty dumb how your trying to discourage people from playing the way the city is right now on a budget!!! after all we are customers and we are paying!! and we do have a voice i think there's nothing wrong with suggestions!!!

big difference with tv soccer and our city soccer is that there are 3 referees on tv soccer ( 11vs11 ) and we have 2 referees ( 6vs6 )

correction, there is 4 refs on tv, 1 central, 2 on the sidelines and one by the bench who takes care of the subs and talks to the coaches.

Also as a men that spends countless hours watching soccer on the weekends I like to add that side refs also call fouls, out of bound balls, goals, violent actions and have also seen many times in a game a central ref change his call after talking to the side ref.

I have played in this league for five seasons now. And I strongly agree that sometimes the refs loose control of the game by not being consistant with their calls. I understand they are not perfect. But I think that the refs need to meet and go over the rules and regulations so that they can all get on the same page. I also understand that they are authority figures on the field, and as such they need to show respect for the players. I have seen occasions where players have been told to shut up or be carded. You will not earn respect that way.

WE do try our best and some are still learning.

Yes, emotions get in the way sometimes to the officials as well as the players and some managers.

Like in manager meetings, we have official meetings before each season to remind our selves of rules and regulations.

Mistakes do happen to all of us !
