The Vikings had an outstanding meet on Saturday at the GMC Championships and captured the team's 6th straight GMC indoor title! The team scored 60 points, had 10 medal winners, 2 individual champions, and many personal bests!
The team was led by event winners Liz Matticoli and Khushi Gupta. Matticoli had a tremendous performance in the shot put, improving her PR by over 2 feet with her throw of 38-4.5! Her mark is now 5th all-time in school history. Gupta jumped a PR of 5-2 in the High Jump, which now ties her for 4th all-time in school history!
Other athletes who earned medals for their top-6 performances were: Melanie La Corte, 2nd in the High Jump (5'2 PR, also tied for 4th in school history); Hannah Trpisovsky, tied for 2nd in the Pole Vault (8'6); Yashika Chidirala, 3rd in the 1600 (5:21 indoor PR) and 4th in the 3200 (11:52); Edith Gonzalez, 3rd in the Shot Put (36'0); Dafina Simon-Ponte, 4th in the 800 (2:24 PR); Darrian Provo, 5th in the Shot Put (30-10.25); Srinidhi Gopalan, 5th in the 3200 (12:01 PR); and Isabel Sananes, 6th in the Pole Vault (7'6).
