Monker Grotto advances to finals
Monker Grotto broke open a close game with a six run 5th inning and went on to defeat the number one seed, Bonaddio Construction, 13-7 to advance to the finals of the playoffs in the majors division. Brandon Frederique pitched his second solid game in a row, going four and two thirds innings, striking out eight and walking four.
The offense was led by Artie Cocchia and Joe Cambereri who both continued their hot hitting with two hits and three runs scored. Frederique helped his cause with two doubles one of which knocked in two runs. Tommy Brown added a two run homer in the fifth.
For Bonaddio, Danny Miller led the way with three hits and solid play at shortstop. Trevor McGee lined a grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth to make things interesting.
