Champlain Mariners snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-6 victory over Browns River Diamondbacks on Sunday. The game was tied at six with Champlain Mariners batting in the bottom of the sixth when Storm Dusablon singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Champlain Mariners earned the victory despite allowing Browns River Diamondbacks to score four runs in the third inning. Browns River Diamondbacks batters contributing to the big inning included Tucker Kohlasch, Jack Doyle, and Kyle Leggett, all driving in runs in the frame.

Champlain Mariners captured the lead in the first inning when Tanner Wolpert singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Champlain Mariners knotted the game up at six in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Cam Bushey grounded out, scoring one run.

Ian Parent led the Champlain Mariners to victory on the mound. The ace lasted two innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Ben Powell was on the hill for Browns River Diamondbacks. The hurler went one-third of an inning, allowing five runs on three hits. Nate Pepin threw five and two-thirds innings in relief.

Baker Angstman started the game for Champlain Mariners. Angstman lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out five and walking one

Champlain Mariners hit one home run on the day. Skyler Bushey had a long ball in the first inning.

Dusablon led Champlain Mariners with three hits in three at bats.

Browns River Diamondbacks tallied nine hits on the day. Sam Steinman and Leggett all collected multiple hits for Browns River Diamondbacks. Browns River Diamondbacks was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Steinman made the most plays with four.
