Vermont Black Sox cruised to an easy victory over Burlington Brewers 13-2 on Sunday
Vermont Black Sox got things moving in the first inning, when Algenis Garcia grounded out, scoring one run.
Vermont Black Sox put up six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from an error on a ball put in play by Daren Cassani and Jeff Barry, a walk by Ben Keaton, a single by Garcia, and a sacrifice fly by Cameron Lauf.
Ryan Canty earned the win for Vermont Black Sox. The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six. John O?Connor threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Cam Goulet took the loss for Burlington Brewers. Goulet surrendered 13 runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out two.
Vermont Black Sox collected ten hits on the day. Garcia and Dana Perrotte all managed multiple hits for Vermont Black Sox. Perrotte and Garcia all had two hits to lead Vermont Black Sox. Vermont Black Sox didn't commit a single error in the field. Lauf had the most chances in the field with nine.
Luke Russell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Burlington Brewers in hits.
