One big inning proves too much as Monarchs overcome Mules
The Monarchs struggled to cross the plate for most of the night as they stranded 14 baserunners, the exception being the 4th inning as they exploded for 8 runs while sending 13 batters to the dish. 5 Monarchs had two hits apiece as they finished with 13 total knocks on the night. The Mules proved to be a tough opponent as they jumped out to leads of 2-0 after one, and then 4-0 after three. The visiting team staked Scott Hmielewski to an 8-4 lead in the top of the 4th which allowed him to claim the win. Andrey Hansbro pitched three innings of efficient relief allowing no hits and only three baserunners.
