St. John's Rolls to Sixth Straight At the Swampscott Middle School, St. John's took on St. Peter's of Cambridge. St. John's scored the opening eight points and never looked back as they cruised to their 6th consecutive win. St. John's came out on fire. Vic Quagrello scored just seven seconds into the game and was followed by a Sydney DeRoche steal and lay up to make it 4-0 with only nineteen seconds gone. Quagrello and Resse Matela would each score on offensive put backs to push the lead to eight. After a St. Peter's 3-pointer, St. John's would go on another run. St. John's would score the next sixteen points led by Nikki Spathanas with six points and Olivia Horton with four to take a commanding lead. A late Jessie Ford basket would send St. John's into the half with a 26-8 edge. Spathanas was dominant in the first half with 5 rebounds and a block to go along with her six points. St. John's put the game away quickly in the second half. Vic Quagrello would score assisted by Sydney deRoche to ignite another run. Anna Dahlman would make it 16 straight points to give St. John's an insurmountable lead with 10;11 still left in the game as St. John's rolled to an easy win. Sydney DeRoche led the way with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Vic Quagrello added a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out 5 assists. Reees Matela(10 rebounds) and Jessie Ford(7 rebounds) controlled the boards for St. John's in the 53-16 win.
