THANKS TO CHIP MACK FOR ALL OF HIS EFFORTS TO MAKE OUR GOLF TOUNAMENT THE SUCCESS IT WAS. THANKS ALSO, TO "ALL" OF THE VOLUNTEERS THAT SUPPORTED THIS FUNCTION, AND ANYONE ELSE THAT HAD A HAND IN MAKING IT A MEMORABLE DAY. BESIDES RAISING FUNDS FOR THE ASSOCIATION, IT BROUGHT TOGETHER SOME OF THE BEST PEOPLE IN OUR SOFTBALL FRATERNITY (OLD AND YOUNG ALIKE). THE PARTICIPATION OF FRIENDS AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS WAS ALSO APPRECIATED. WE LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR, AND ANTICIPATE AN EVEN LARGER TURN-OUT.

Enjoyed looking over all of the pictures and seeing a few names I remember playing against at the Marylander and in state tournaments. John Simpers has told me about all that has been going on with the Hall of Fame idea and you all have done a good job at getting things set up and going. I sure can say that you can miss those good old days when softball was a lot of fun and getting to know others from all over was even more fun. Over the years friendship are made and sometimes never seen again but that is something you will always remember. All of the times that had been spent away from the families and then again the good times when the families would come with us to all of the tournaments around the various states, boy was that fun and exciting. I can remember back in 1967 when a bunch of use youngsters started playing at the Marylander on a team call TUCKS and had to finish the year as UCKS because the sponsor stopped supporting us. Now that year we made it to the finals of Md. Slow Pitch State and were playing the Aberdeen Restaurant for the Championship, the problem was if we won we were going to have to borrow the uniforms from them to play in the regional’s, our shorts and shirts with UCKS just wasn't going to be good enough. Well I sure did enjoy all of those times with the Big Cone, AAW, HS and the Quick 10 and the great beer drinking after the games at the Marylander and all of the friends I was able to meet during my playing days. Thanks for the memories!!

Thanks for the web-site, Moon! This will be the 4th meeting that I have attended in the last year and a half. I'm lookin' forward to seeing my fellow, "SOFTBALL Fraternity Brothers" a sharing some "FUN" memories of our past. However, the past few meetings have been somewhat difficult to handle. It's a large group of men that have differences of opinion! Wow! Imagine that!!! I just want to be able to leave tonight's meeting feeling UPBEAT!, not BEAT-UP!!! I joined this FRATERNITY after the first meeting in Parkville, Maryland, back in 2005. It was a fantastic affair and it was something I definitely wanted to be a part of. I paid a $100.00 for a lifetime membership, because I felt a good thing was about to open up and I would continue to share many good times, in the very near future, that would carry me into my senior years with the many friends of a GREAT TIME IN MY LIFE, that being "SLO-PITCH SOFTBALL! We have a newly elected officials, as of the last meeting, and they should be given the opportunity to take this "FRATERNITY" even further! Some have their doubts and questions! I just want it to remain successful! I want to leave the meeting tonight with an UPBEAT attitude and with the same feeling, about the organization, that I remembered from the spring of 2005. Phil, Mark, Charlie, Dick, Joe and the boys,...........THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC RUN and please stay and assist the new OFFICERS! IT'S WHAT YOU LEARN, AFTER YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, THAT MAKE'S YOU SMARTER! Be a part of the process! I have a group of members that I stay in touch with via e-mail and it's an interesting group: "Smooth" Max Kafka, Danny "Boom-Boom" Markowski, Cliff "Sammy" Gephardt, Vinny, John Simpers, Rich Mooney, just to name a few. If you throw in a Tommy Schafer and a Ted "Hoot" Fischer, sounds like "FUN"! It's the best $100.00 I've ever spent! Let's join forces and bring back the fun, let's be upbeat and positive going forward and be grateful for all the men and women that have made this organization so good and worthwhile. I will reply to this e-mail tomorrow! Look for the results! Jim "Country" Trout Lifetime since Spring of '05

VERY NICE TO SEE THE SITE IS BACK UP AND RUNNING. THANKS WEBMASTER MOONEY. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION, OLD AND NEW ALIKE. MOVING FORWARD TO ENRICH THE ASSOCIATION SHOULD BE OUR FIRST AND FOREMOST CONCERN. WE WERE FOUNDED TO ACKNOWLEDGE SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL AND THOSE WHO DEDICATED THEIR TIME AND ENERGY TO PLAY, PROMOTE, AND PRESERVE A GAME WE ALL LOVE AND ENJOY. THERE WAS NO BETTER WAY TO DO THIS, THAN TO INTRODUCE THE "HALL OF FAME". NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL, GENDER, OR AGE AT WHICH WE COMPETE, SPONSOR, OR OFFICIATE,.... OUR EFFORTS CAN BE REWARDED. THANKS TO A FEW FORMER SOFTBALLERS WHO INVISIONED WHAT "HONORING" THEIR PEERS WOULD MEAN TO ALL OF US. WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION ??? COME TO THE MEETINGS, ATTEND OUR OUTINGS AND INDUCTION CEREMONIES, NOMINATE CANDIDATES, JOIN THE ASSOCIATION, AND SUPPORT OUR ORGANIZATION BY HELPING WHENEVER YOU CAN

At the last meeting held to announce the inductees for the 2010 HOF, I was confronted on the fact I attended “Secret Meetings” held at the Angle Inn on O’Donnell St. in Dundalk. I came to that meeting expecting to be a part of the festivities and congratulate the inductees. Instead, I witnessed a borage of arguments aimed at one point specifically “Secret Meetings” that Tommy Shafer held to supposable undermined Bi-Laws, current administration, etc. This is way beyond the truth, the last 3 years I’ve been going over the Angle-Inn, specifically for numerous things, drink beer, women, and talk about the superbdefensive abilities of Wamsley and Johnny Hall of Angle-Inn Softball lore. Of all these get togethers, NOT ONCE has Tommy Shafer or any other person associated with the HOF in any manner talked of HOF initiation criteria, merits, resumes, or especially the undermining of officers within the HOF board. Just needed to say this and get this off my chest, because I am a friend of Tommys and respect his honesty and most of all integrity when it comes to such matters as the Maryland Slowpitch Hall of Fame, and I can honestly say I would swear to that fact.

MY FAMILY AND I CANNOT EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE ENOUGH TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ATTENDED THE BENEFIT FOR OUR GRAND-DAUGHTER, ALLY. YOUR PRESENCE AND GENEROSITY WAS OVERWHELMING. ALSO, THANK YOU TO THOSE OF YOU WHO COULD NOT ATTEND FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND DONATIONS. THE TURN OUT WAS AMAZING (700+), AND DEARLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR YOUR DONATION. MY SON AND HIS WIFE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO WORK SINCE FEB, (THEY STAY AT ALLY'S BEDSIDE 24/7), SO I'M SURE ALL DONATIONS WILL BE USED WISELY. A MIRICALE IS WHAT WE NEED NOW, AND PRAYERS ARE WHAT WILL GET GODS ATTENTION. PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR ALLY......... "MAX"

As luck would have it I just happened to stumble on this web site. A virtual trip down memory lane. names of men that I shared the diamond with many years ago. some team mates, some opponents and others that officiated those summer classics. Reminds me of a Springsteen classic " GLORY DAYS " well they'll pass you by, glory days, in the wink of a young girls eyes.
