League purpose

The purpose of the League is to be a volunteer base body for administration and encouragement of Softball for all skills and age levels in the South/West area of the City of Winnipeg.

The Learn to Play program is designed for boys and girls aged 5-7years old. Softball programs for girls are offered for ages 8 to 19 years. Local community clubs coordinate the registration of players and the central WSWYSA organizes the league, games, umpires and playoffs.

The softball season begins in March and April (depending on weather or availability of inside facilities) with the regular season games taking place during May and June.  Participants will have two games per week with most teams holding additional practises during the week.

League/Division playoffs typically are held in late June. For those teams that qualify, provincial playoffs commence in early July.
