Coaches Corner

December 20, 2004
Throughout the season coaches/managers ask very good questions concerning a variety of topics.  Often times, what is on the mind of one coach is also on the mind of others who participate in the MCBA.  Accordingly, we will use the Coaches Corner section of the website to answer various questions in hopes that other folks will find the information helpful to them as well.  Please note that questions asked and answered are in chronological order as received.

Q: When is a game considered to be suspended versus having to be replayed in its entirety?
A: All MCBA games once started are suspended if the game is halted before the game becomes official.

Q: Can a team intentionally walk a batter without pitching to him?
A: Yes, at any time during the at bat.

Q: Can players hit soft toss into the fencing at the field before or during a game?
A: No, soft toss is NOT permitted into the permanent fencing at any park/field where MCBA games are played.  Infractions of this rule should be reported to the league office immediately.

Q: Who is responsible for removing trash from the fields?
A: Coaches/managers are responsible for removing all trash from the field/dugout areas immediately following each game.  Coaches should bring a trash bag to every game for convenience.
