FREEZE RULES FOR ALL TEAMS

 1] ABSOLUTELY  NO RECRUITING (WITHIN THE PARK)

 2] EACH TEAM IS ALLOWED TO FREEZE 4 PLAYERS

 3] ANY PLAYER NOT BEING FROZEN WITH THE CURRENT COACH GOES INTO DRAFT.

 4] ALL FREEZE FORMS WILL BE TURNED IN AT THE DAY OF THE TRYOUTS, PRIOR TO TRYOUTS BEGINNING

 5] IN THE EVENT THE HEAD COACH IS NOT RETURNING, THE ASSISTANT COACH OF THAT TEAM, WHO IS BECOMING THE HEAD COACH OF THAT TEAM, CAN FREEZE PLAYERS FROM THAT TEAM.

 6] COACHES MOVING UP CAN, IF THE PLAYERS WANTS, FREEZE PLAYERS HE COACHED IN THE PREVIOUS SPRING SEASON.

 7] NEW PLAYERS COMING INTO THE PARK, AND BEING BROUGHT IN BY A STANDING COACH, CAN BE FROZEN BY THAT COACH PRIOR TO TRYOUTS.

 8] NEW INCOMING COACH INTO THE PARK CAN BRING IN 4 PLAYERS AND FREEZE THEM PRIOR TO TRYOUTS.

I. D. Badges Must Be Worn!!!

 
Please Be Reminded that only Coaches and Assistants with valid I.D. can be on the field working with the children or in the dugouts.  The Town of Miami Lakes is authorized and will ask coaches to leave the field until they have a valid I.D. on their person. 

In order to recieve a valid I.D. adults volunteers, coaches, managers, league administrators and umpires must obtain, complete and submit a Town of Miami Lakes Background Check form.
 
Managers and Coaches must also complete a NAYS Coaches Certification Clinic which is offered by the Town of Miami Lakes prior to the start of each season!

MIAMI LAKES YOUTH SPORTS COACH GUIDELINES

 

The Town of Miami Lakes requires all coaches of youth sports to go through a coach certification process, Background Consent/Release process, and are required to wear a Coach ID at all times when coaching. Below are guidelines for new and returning coaches to follow to adhere to said requirements.

ONLY IF YOU ARE A NEW COACH TO THE CLUB:

STEP 1: Certification

All Miami Lakes Youth Sports coaches are required to complete a Town approved Youth Sports Certification Class for their respective sport. If you have been certified in another sport this year and have a current certification, you only need to complete the sport-specific portion of the certification training.

The Town currently offers onsite National Youth Sports Coaches Association training classes for no fee. Available dates will be posted as each season starts.  Please check with each sport's commissioner for availability of upcoming certification dates.    
 
NYSCA Coaches Clinics may also be taken online: http://www.nays.org/nyscaonlineclinics/.  There is a $25 fee for online clinics.   
 

STEP 2: Background Check

 
 

All new coaches must complete a Background Consent/Release form.  Forms are available in the HANDOUTS section of our website. All Background Consent Forms must be directly faxed or mailed by the coach to Southeastern Security Consultants, Inc (SSCI) at 1-866-996-1292.  Should you have further questions regarding the forms, please call the Town of Miami Lakes directly at 305-556-0771.

 
Step 3:  Coach ID Card 
 
All new coaches must have a valid Town of Miami Lakes Coach ID Card to be able to coach youth sports in the town of Miami Lakes.  ID cards are issued every season and coaches are required to wear them during all practices and games.  To obtain a Coach ID Card, a prospective coach must show proof of the following:
 
a)  NYSCA/Approved Coaches Certification
 
b)  Completed and submitted Background Form 
 
Coach ID cards are available at the Miami Lakes Park Office located at 6411 NW 162nd Street Monday - Friday 6pm-9pm.

STEP 1: Renew your NYSCA Certification

 

All coaches of Miami Lakes Youth Sports are required to renew their Youth Sports Coach Certification prior to beginning their respective season. There are 3 options available to complete the renewal process:

(There is a one-time yearly membership renewal fee of $20)

REFUND REQUEST FORM - Download the Refund Request form to obtain a refund of the registration fees.  However, please note that if your child was selected by a team, refunds will not be honored as specified on the registration form.  

FIELD USE POLICY

ATTENTION MANAGERS AND COACHES:
 
The fields at Miami Lakes Park can be reserved for practices when available.  All field schedules go thru the respective commissioner.
When there are no games or practices scheduled and fields are open for play, the fields become first come, first serve with the following conditions: 
         Field #1 priority to Colt/Pony ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Field #2 priority to Bronco/Mustang ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Field #3 priority to Softball ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Field #4 priority to Pony/Bronco ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Field #5 priority to Pinto ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Pinto A  priority to T-Ball ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
         Pinto B  priority to Pinto/T-Ball ~ all other divisions must vacate upon request
