A LETTER TO SPONSORS FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Beaverton High Boys Lacrosse Team would like to thank you for taking the time to consider sponsorship of our club! Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. No sport has grown faster at the high school level over the past 10 years; there are now an estimated 282,000 high school players nationwide.

We have an amazing program at Beaverton. It’s one of the top programs in the entire state of Oregon.  We are fortunate to have an outstanding coaching staff and many dedicated players and parents. Our program is on the rise after completing back to back playoff appearances.  Here are some of the highlights from the past 2 years:

  • 2013 State Championship Semi-Finalist (Final Four)
  • 2014 Sweet 16 Appearance Championship Bracket
  • 2013 Oregon & Metro League Head Coach of the Year; Bidnam Lee
  • 2012/13 Oregon & Metro League Assistant Coach of the Year; Collin Bailey
  • 2013 All-American; Gaelen Murray and Academic All-American; Kincaid Murray
  • 2013/14 All-State; Sam Hart-Thompson, Gaelen Murray, Sam Jarman-Miller, Carter Olsen
  • 2013/14 All-Metro; Sam Jarman-Miller, Sam Hart-Thompson, Gaelen Murray, Carter Olsen,  Bryce Cartier, Kincaid Murray, Cam Harris, Zac Rosevear, Nate Johnnie, Anthony Kerkar, Evan Barnard, Bryce LaPerle

We are proud of these accomplishments, but even prouder of the way our coaches and players have attained this level of success.  I’d like to share an excerpt from a letter that Head Coach Bidnam Lee wrote last spring to our players and parents at the beginning of our season;

“I believe lacrosse in its best form can help us become the best versions of ourselves, that it can teach us how to be selfless, disciplined, and industrious, that it can help us learn the nuances of teamwork, the sacrifices of leadership, and the responsibility of commitment. I believe that lacrosse, as much as it should be played for the immeasurable thrills of the game and the incomparable feelings of winning, should ultimately and uncompromisingly be played for its ability to mold us into better people, even if at times it is the tougher road. This is the gravitational core of how and why I coach, and this will now be the core of this team and this program. “

Your sponsorship of Beaverton Lacrosse effects more than wins and losses, it helps create a program that impacts the way our kids learn for three months each year, and that effects the way they grow, think, and act for the rest of their lives.

Lacrosse is a club sport and not funded by the Beaverton School District so sponsorship is critical to keeping our participation fees affordable for all.  Our board, players, parents, and fans love this sport and give generously each year to make it a reality at BHS, but we simply cannot reach our goals without sponsor funding.

We are a 501c3 charitable organization so your donation is tax deductible. We are managed by parent volunteers and 100% of every dollar raised is spent to operate the club.  Please consider becoming a sponsor, it really will make a big difference for our kids and community. Contact me directly if you have any questions.

Thank you so much!
