Cane Creek Slow Pitch Softball Rules - Age 17U Division
Amendments to NSA Rulebook
1. Game will be 6 innings or a time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes.
2. In the regular season, a game may end in a tie.
3. During a tournament if game is tied at the end of regulation, then the “International Rule” will apply. The last batter from the last inning on each team will begin the extra inning on 2nd base as game continues. Play will continue with the International Rule until a winner is declared.
4. Teams may play with a minimum of 7 players with "no penalty outs". Players may enter game late or leave game early with no penalty.
5. If a player arrives late to the game, that player must be added to the bottom of the batting order.
6. All players will bat.
7. The last pitch may be fouled until hit, missed, or no swing.
8. A foul tip caught by the catcher will be considered “out” if the ball reaches a height over the batter’s head, at umpire’s discretion.
9. Base runner cannot leave the base until the ball is hit; players are not allowed to steal bases.
10. Players must be rotated into game every other inning. No player shall sit out 2 consecutive innings
11. There will be a limit of 1 homerun “out of the park/over the fence” per player per game. Additional homeruns “out of the park/over the fence” by the same player will result in a double - with base runners advancing 2 bases.
12. There will be an infield fly rule. (The infield fly rule takes effect on a fair fly ball that, in the judgment of the umpire, can be caught by an infielder, pitcher, or catcher with ordinary effort and when there are runners on first and second or first, second, and third and less than two outs. Line drives and bunts do not apply to this rule.)
13. Maximum of 1 Intentional Walk per player per game.
14. Defense must stay behind the 1st & 3rd baseline hash marks until ball is hit
15. Pitcher must have 1 foot in contact with pitching rubber upon pitch.
16. Pitcher shall pitch the ball at a slow speed with an arch no higher than 10 feet.
17. The pitcher must wear a face guard and is strongly suggested that they also wear shin guards.
18. Each team must play a catcher, in full catcher gear. Helmet must have a face guard.
19. Maximum number of 10 defensive players on the field per inning
