Hello Rebels,

Coach here.

I hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy while working through this difficult time. It's certainly been tough for me at times not having lax and I hope you all are finding good ways to cope. There is a lot of fear, frustration, and confusion in the world right now and it's all warranted. I've also seen a lot of inspirational stories of people helping one another and what our health care workers are doing is remarkable. Not to mention postal workers, grocery store workers, restaurants donating food and resources, and businesses and individuals offering money, time, and whatever else they can. I'm proud of the Columbine family because many have stepped up in a lot of ways, many are working on the front lines, and I think we've overall done an exceptional job with our compliance with social distancing orders. Please continue to be safe and take care of one another.

Backorder items - The back-ordered items from Denver Athletic have arrived and I have them. I am going to hang onto them for 1-2 weeks longer so we can continue to promote proper social distancing. FYI - this order does not include items from the 2nd team store. Denver Athletic was shut down before the order was finalized in production. Within a week or so we'll know more about when to expect the items from the 2nd store.

April 20th Day of Service - What we are encouraging people to do this year is to write a minimum of two handwritten letters of gratitude. Some suggestions are: first responders, grocery store workers, doctors and nurses, any hospital or medical facility employee, any essential worker, your parents for stepping up and showing courage, your grandparents, or any other family member. We chose this route again because it's a way for us to give back while limiting exposure to others and it's important to express gratitude during difficult times. Zig Ziglar says it very well "Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for."

Does that mean you shouldn't feel bad about what's happened? Heck no. Feel the sadness, feel the sense of loss because that's all part of this. We've all been through a lot and I know we'd all rather be preparing for opponents, practicing, and playing games. However, we can give thanks for whatever little things we have in our lives because it can help make a difficult situation better. It can help to pull us out of those sad/down moments.

Also, one of our team moms, Rhonda Browne, knows a nurse in her neighborhood who is also a Columbine mom.  Rhonda reached out to her to see if there was something her family could do to support the hospital staff for a day of service.  The nurse talked to the powers that be and said they would love her family's help and our help. They could use individually wrapped snacks, nuts, dried fruit, cheese sticks, Gatorade basically anything easy grab and go for long shifts. We will have a drop-off for letters and snacks at Rhonda Browne's house and Amy Dexter's house. Both addresses are below.  We are asking that all items are dropped off by April 20th at 5 pm and you can start dropping items off today if you'd like.

You can also send the letters on your own or deliver snacks yourself.

Rhonda Browne - 5476 S Independence St.

Amy Dexter - 6084 W Leawood Drive

Hang in there everyone!! I appreciate you all and hope to see you all soon!

All the best,
Coach Zordani

Hello Again Rebels,

I've had some requests for exercises to do in order to stay in shape. Think of all the workouts we did with coach Sylver and do them. Body weight workouts such as squats, push-ups, lunges (forward, side, backward), pull-ups, push-ups, man dimes, etc. Search the internet for home workouts. There's an endless supply of things you can do. I also cannot stress wall ball enough and have posted a link to a wall ball routine that a former teammate of mine created. Lastly, go for a run. I always loved 1.5 mile runs when I was a player but mix it up. Run sprints one day, long jog, interval run, be creative and search for different things to do. Also, buy lacrosse balls and a net if you don't have one and can afford it. If not, find a net somewhere and go shoot. Shoot until you can't lift your arms and then shoot some more.

Furthermore, I highly recommend following Kyle Hartzell on Instagram in you're a defensive player, and First Class Lacrosse on Instagram if you an offensive player and goalies I'd follow Scotty Rodgers and/or the lacrossegoalienetwork. All provide excellent drills, insight, and education on how to improve your game not only when things are normal but also during these times of social distancing.
