MBL CONCESSION STAND INFORMATION:

The success of MBL each season is heavily dependent on the success of the Concession Stand due to the revenue that it brings into the league.  As noted during registration, all parents are expected to support the League by volunteering at least 6 hours of service (per family) working at the MBL Concession Stand. This requirement is applicable to all Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth divisions, except the Cougar Cubs program (where registered families only need to volunteer for 3 hours of Concession Stand duty).  Please note that families with multiple children in the program do NOT need to volunteer additional Concession Stand hours.

During the Spring Rec season – which runs from Opening Day (April 1) through Championship Day (June 12) - the Concession Stand will have the following normal hours of operations:

    • Monday-Friday: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
    • Saturdays:         8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
    • Sundays:            10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Note:  These hours are subject to change based on game schedule, weather, and field conditions.  If there are no games being played, the Concession Stand will not be open.

During the Summer Travel season – which typically runs from mid-June through mid-July - and the Summer

Covino Tournament, the Concession Stand hours of operations will vary, dependent on each day’s game schedule.

2021 Concession Stand Manual
The MBL Concession Stand has a binder inside with all the information you need to know to run the stand. Click here for a an online version of the Concession Stand Manual to familiarize yourself with the procedures before your shift.

MBL utilizes VolunteerSpot for all Concession Stand duty scheduling (sign-ups, tracking of hours, etc.).  Prior to the start of the Spring Rec season, parents will receive email communication from the MBL Concession Stand Leader(s) directing them to the website to schedule their time slots. In addition, each team will have a designated parent "Team Parent" who will notify you to sign up.

If you do not sign up for two 3-hours time-slots by the beginning of the Spring Rec season, slots will be assigned to you and you will be responsible for filling that slot or finding a replacement.

In the situation where all of the spring Concession Stand slots are filled and you have not yet fulfilled your service requirement, you may be assigned to Concession Stand slots during the summer travel season or Covino Tournament. Therefore, parents are strongly encouraged to sign up for their required volunteer hours as early as possible so they can select from the best time available slots that accommodate their personal schedules.

Important Things to Remember:

    • Please be prompt for your shift.

    • Only adults (age 18 years and older) are allowed to work in the Concession Stand.

    • Children are not allowed in the Concession Stand (this policy will be strictly enforced).

    • If you need to switch your assigned slot, please contact your Team Parent and/or the VolunteerSpot Manager.  In the event of a rain-out, your Team Parent will let you know if your slot has been rescheduled or not.

If you have any questions about Concession Stand duty, please contact a Concession Stand Leader(s)
