With kid pitch at this age, once a child is hit by a pitcher, he will be afraid for some time. The player will develop bad habits, stepping out, and not watching the ball. More worried about being hit again. He needs to develop pure hitting skills, have fun, build confidence, and then he's ready to move up to the next level.
